"Recently attended Tyler's woodworking joints class this weekend, had such an enjoyable experience. Tyler is knowledgeable, personable and gives you the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to leave with the ability to practice at your own leisure. Really laid back and enjoyable day, I'd recommend to anyone looking to learn new skills! Tyler is a master at what he does! Looking forward to my next class."

Liz Cavill reviewed: Enter the world of Pyrography with Bob Neill

"I had a wonderful day with Bob and Del and was made to feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Bob is an excellent pyrography tutor, obviously passionate about his craft and I learnt so much. Bob clearly demonstrated and talked us through different techniques. I was so pleased with what I produced, even though I was a beginner. It was lovely to sit down with Bob, Del and the other person attending the workshop, to enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by Del. I would highly recommend attending one of Bob's pyrography courses."

Tim reviewed: Introduction to Woodworking Weekend

"Had an excellent weekend introduction to woodworking with hand tools. Bill is a great instructor, knowledgeable and experienced in not only woodworking but in instruction. Was patient helping my easily distracted teen through the weekend while still ensuring each of us received equal tutelage. Can't recommend him or his courses more highly and will certainly be looking for the next step in our journey for my son and I to attend."

Craven Conservation and Restoration Ltd responded:

"Thank you Tim for attending and for taking the time to do a review, much appreciated. I am glad that you both enjoyed it and it was great to see your son engage with his work and also be creative. I look forward to welcoming you both back to my workshops. Thank you again. "

Susan reviewed: 4h mosaic workshop for beginners

"We had a wonderful afternoon with Marie-Paule. So may choices of which mosaic to try, such an array of colours, tiles, textures and many tools! Marie-Paule gave us expert advice on how to produce a mosaic as well as some of the interesting history behind mosaics of the past. Her hospitality and home were charming and the tile just flew by! Would love to come again. "

Jane Grist reviewed: Create with a gel printing plate in Derbyshire

"A fantastic introduction to gel printing. The workshop was paced really well, excellent examples and resources throughout. We were given lots of opportunities to experiment and develop our own individual style. Super hospitality, felt very spoilt, a beautiful location plus Bert the cat, who could ask for more! "

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Jane, Thank you for your kind words - it’s much appreciated. Bert is particularly happy with being mentioned! It was lovely working with you both, seeing your skills and understanding grow throughout the day. There’s lots of potential to combine your gel prints with lino printing and textiles based processes, so I expect you’re going to be very busy. Hoping to see you back at The Slipper Studio later in the year. Best wishes Liz Wellby "

"I was returning for my second box-making course along with a friend who had been impressed by my efforts from first time round. Stella Reynolds reviewed: Bring Your Own Upholstery Project - 1 day workshop - Week Days

Chris Jeffrey reviewed: Basic woodturning half day

"An excellent session. For something that looks "so easy" online you soon find out it's not but Chris is very patient and a great teacher. Having done this in one session previously I was really keen to be back trying woodturning. It was obvious to Chris some aspects I did struggle with but he was very keen to see what motivated me to try and build on my enthusiasm. There was even tips on how I could continue doing this if I chose. I even experienced a little personal "wobble" during the session, Chris handled this excellently and got me going again - even cutting into his own time to ensure I finished and was still motivated by the end. Thoroughly enjoyed and Chris is an excellent teacher!"

Kate Carpenter reviewed: Bespoke Photo-encaustic workshop

"I can highly recommend this workshop. I'm a photographer and wanted to learn how to incorporate encaustic into my work. Before the workshop I had phone and email correspondence with Lyn and together we worked out what we wanted to do. Lyn understood exactly what I am trying to express in my work and made some excellent suggestions. The day itself was great fun - I approached it in the spirit of experimentation and left with loads of ideas for things to try by myself. Lyn explained things clearly and her manner allowed me to have a go without feeling any pressure to get things "right" - we just let the evolving work take us where it took us. She was great company, and I had a wonderful day. "

Contemporary Encaustic Wax Workshop responded:

"I love my job! Meeting other creatives. Trying to get under ‘the skin’ of their work to suggest ways of achieving an idea they have in their head…with the addition of wax. Thank you for your spirit of adventure Kate, it was lovely to meet you and share my passion for encaustic. Good luck with your burgeoning ideas. Keep in touch. Lyn "

Val Brough reviewed: Felting workshop 2025 - 2 days - wet felting and needle felting to create a landscape

"Excellent course. Good pace and supportive teaching, allowing us to express ourselves through felt for our own design of a landscape , rather than a prescriptive approach. I would recommend . (There was also a goood supply of biscuits!)"
