Hi, I am passionate about encaustic wax as I hope you can tell from the reviews by previous students. Being able to pass on my knowledge and little tricks of the trade is a real pleasure. I have been painting all my life, but ‘found’ encaustic whilst studying as a mature student at Art College. I was hooked! I am a member of the International Encaustic Artists organisation (IEA) and a prize winner for my encaustic work. My workshops are always fun. We pack a lot in, but the time just flies!

"I can highly recommend this workshop. I'm a photographer and wanted to learn how to incorporate encaustic into my work. Before the workshop I had phone and email correspondence with Lyn and together we worked out what we wanted to do. Lyn understood exactly what I am trying to express in my work and made some excellent suggestions. The day itself was great fun - I approached it in the spirit of experimentation and left with loads of ideas for things to try by myself. Lyn explained things clearly and her manner allowed me to have a go without feeling any pressure to get things "right" - we just let the evolving work take us where it took us. She was great company, and I had a wonderful day. "

"My second one-to-one two-day Photo-Encaustic tutorial with Lyn Kirkland was again a great success. On my arrival, several substrates and all of the agreed-upon photos for printing were ready. " Bespoke Contemporary Fine Art Encaustic Wax Workshop with Lyn. My workshop with Lyn was fantastic. Lyn had everything organised ahead of my arrival, so we were ready to go in no time. We jelled immediately, and I could see she was passionate about her teaching and her work. We cruised through a lot of work, and she was full of suggestions and helpful tips. She opened a whole new world for me. We had fun and I was so sad leaving her studio and yet so excited to have met her and ever so thankful for her passionate teaching. I will try to come again for another workshop once I have progressed in this new venture. Thanks Lyn."
