I moved up to Yorkshire in 2023 to be closer to family, after over a decade of making furniture and teaching woodworking classes for adults at my workshop in Islington, North London. My new space has the same feel – it's a real, professional woodworking workshop where I make my own furniture and commissions in an environment full of my own random woodworking curiosities. Ever seen a Japanese grooving plane? 18th Century dovetail saw? What about a homemade belt sander?
I look forward to welcoming you with plentiful tea, random anecdotes, and always good cheer.
"Such a positive experience, whether you've done much woodworking or not. Tom has a wealth of experience and deep passion that he passes on with generosity and patience in a very relaxed atmosphere. The small class size really helps make it personal with so many nuggets of helpful advice and tips. I'll definitely be signing up for one of his other ones soon!"
Tom Trimmins Woodwork responded:
"Thanks for such a nice review Roger, hopefully see you back at the workbench soon!"
"Spent a wonderful weekend being taught by Tom. Tom is a fantastic teacher who has so much enthusiasm for his trade, he has the ability to show you wood making skills in a chilled and effective way. I learnt so much in two days and would definitely recommend it to anyone starting out in wood working."
"I thoroughly enjoyed this hands on course and learnt more in two days than I would have by watching endless You tube videos. Tom is a Master Craftsman who also has the interpersonal skills to make you feel like you too can create your own woodworking projects with confidence."
"Excellent weekend. Thoroughly enjoyable and Tom is a great teacher. Will be back no doubt."
