I have been turning wood since just before the end of the last century. I have been demonstrating turning at home and overseas for 20 years and teaching it for over 15 years. I have written many articles for the woodturning press and for the web. In 2011 I was awarded the Tony Boase Tribute award at the AWGB international seminar.
I am an AWGB approved tutor and a tutor assessor.
My aim is to provide you with the knowledge and techniques to take your woodturning to the next level and I teach all levels from complete beginners to experts.
"Very informative, learned a lot of technique and general knowledge about the equipment and tools.
I even managed to turn a nice little wooden vase which I definitely wouldn’t have been able to do without having been on the course "
Paul Hannaby Creative Woodturning responded:
"Thanks Mark, I hope to see you on another course in the future."
"I spent the day with Paul in a one-on-one tuition session. I have been turning for a couple of years without any lessons, and wanted to improve my technique. Oh and I wanted to start to master a Skew!
The day was great, and Paul was a great tutor.
I had more catches in one day with a Skew than I have had in six months ... but I learned.
Now I just need to go and practice to cement the learnings.
I would not hesitate to recommend him."
Paul Hannaby Creative Woodturning responded:
"Thanks for the feedback, good luck with your practice."
"Really enjoyed this course and came away with a perfectly formed vase. Paul was very patient and knowledgeable. A great half day spent learning this craft. "
Paul Hannaby Creative Woodturning responded:
"Glad you both enjoyed the session. Hope to see you on the next one!"
"A really enjoyable day. Its been a long time since I used a lathe but Paul's
instruction and reassuring manner enable me to recapture my confidence. His tips and techniques from sharpening tools to good turning techniques resulted in the production of a vase I was pleased to take home. I now have confidence to get woodturning again. Thanks for the tea and the lunch too.
Recommended."
Paul Hannaby Creative Woodturning responded:
"Thanks for the feeback David, good luck with your return to woodturning! "
