I’ve been exploring woodland crafts for over 20 years and have a keen interest in relating an understanding of woodland ecology with the practical skills of woodland management and craft skills of making products from a wonderful sustainable raw material. I take my past experience in University continuing education into my teaching of craft skills to offer a rich immersive experience
"Fantastic day-long introduction to spoon carving and green wood working in a lovely setting. David and Caroline's passion and enthusiasm for their craft was infectious, and their tuition was excellent. I'd never even held an axe before the course, and still came away with a carved spoon I'm delighted with! We also received a lot of useful knowledge on the carving process and keeping your tools sharp. Highly recommend this course. "
David Knight Woodland Crafts responded:
"Thanks Rebecca. I hope it won't be the first and last time you hold a carving axe in your hand. A lifetime of carving exploration awaits if you wish! "
"Thank you so much David and Caroline for an informative and enjoyable day. I came with trepidation but my daughter and I enjoyed ourselves. You were both very helpful and made sure I left with something that did look like a spoon! A lovely couple, great company and an informative day's course. Thank you."
David Knight Woodland Crafts responded:
"Hi Marie, thanks so much for your positive feedback. It was such a pleasure to tutor your group. I always come away from a course enthused to improve my own practice and to learn what would work better for the next group."
"My mum and I had a fantastic day with David and Caroline! Not only did they create a warm, welcoming space where there was no wrong questions but their enthusiasm and passion for green woodworking was infectious!
Would definitely recommend this experience to any one looking to learn a new skill and just have a fun day out.
Thank you for your patience David and Caroline, we have shown our spoons to just about anyone who will listen!!"
David Knight Woodland Crafts responded:
"Hi Tess, what an enjoyable day it was to follow your initial steps into the world of green woodworking and spoon carving. I do hope that the day may inspire you to pick up a carving knife again and carve your second spoon. If you do, please do send me a photo. All best wishes. David"
