Glass Art Designs is run by me, Beckie Cresswell - I personally teach all of our courses.
I have always been interested in nature and the natural environment. After A-levels I studied Biology at university and then went on to be a secondary school Science teacher for 20 years.
In my free time I've always enjoyed trying different crafts. When I tried glass fusing, I knew I'd found a craft that I loved. After completing a few more courses, I decided to buy a kiln myself. After lots more learning, experimenting and improving, I set up Glass Art Designs. I've been making and selling glass art ever since then and my work has been shipped all over the world.
I'm new to CraftCourses.com but I'm certainly no novice at helping people to learn in a fun environment. I'm delighted to be able to share my passion for teaching with my love of fusing glass!
"What a wonderful way to spend a few hours!! Beckie is excellent at what she does! Everything was explained clearly and she was so helpful in helping us create our decorations, going out of her way to find ways we could bring our designs to life!
We will absolutely be booking a space on another of her workshops in the new year!! "
"I am not in the least bit artistic, so I was a little nervous when a friend suggested going on this course. I need not have worried. Beckie explained everything so clearly and had so many examples to look at that by the time it came to choosing what to make, I was really excited.
There was a fantastic choice of materials and colours and we each had our own set of tools so there was no time wasted in getting down to work.
Beckie was on hand at all times to offer advice and refreshments when needed. I was thrilled with the outcome of my labours as were the rest of the group.
After the session we all signed straight up for a Christmas course!"
"The course was a completely different and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Clear instructions with plenty of ideas. Equipment and materials were easy to use."
"I went along to this course with 4 friends and what a great morning it was! There was a warm welcome, a hot chocolate and biscuits and a lot of enthusiasm on our part. Beckie told us the rudimentals - what the various tools were and how to use them, the different sorts of glass on offer and then left us to it. Advice and tips were always on hand when required. Time flew and before we knew it 12.30 arrived. There was no rush to stop immediately as the next class wasn’t due to start straightaway. Our ‘masterpieces’ will be ready for collection in 7-10 days and I can’t wait! Beckie was very enthusiastic and informative and was very aware that none of us had ever experienced glass fusion before. There was no right or wrong way which suited us all. I would definitely recommend the class. No experience is required. You’ll be surprised how creative you can be! Thanks so much Beckie."
