I have been an artist for over 25 years with a specific interest in Japanese art and culture. This led me to discover the traditional crafts of Kintsugi, the repairing of broken pottery with gold, Shibori, indigo resist dyeing and Kurinuki single block clay carving.
I love the meditative effect of these traditional crafts and the unique and often surprising results they produce.
My little studio/workshop opened in 2021 and is situated in a converted stable in the grounds of Wolvey Hall, a Grade II listed building.
The perfect place for creativity.
"My daughter and I were made to feel extremely welcome. Lucy is a true inspiration. We were both really pleased with our bowls and can't wait to do some more. Thank you so much Lucy, it was a great birthday treat 😀 "
"Absolutely fabulous workshop with Lucy today at her studio in the most beautiful surroundings. We took part in the Kintsugi workshop which was a lot of fun as well as informative. Lucy knows her art and the philosophy of Kintsugi is at the forefront. There's also time for tea and cake (Lucy bakes! Which was a lovely surprise) and we have something stunning and a new skill to take home. Can't recommend highly enough! Only regret was not bringing my broken dip dish to repair!"
Studio Kinkou responded:
"Thank you, it was lovely to meet you all. You were a fun and very talented group. "
