Description
On this course, you will have the opportunity to learn the basics of blacksmithing from the experienced traditional blacksmith Jeremy Cash in a village forge which has been operating for over 200 years. Over a few hours you will learn how to use fire, hammer, tongs and anvil to control and shape the metal. By the end, you will have created your own piece of metalwork to take home with you, such as a leaf-work poker, traditional coat hook, elegant toasting fork or characterful bottle opener (tell me if there is something specific you would like and I will let you know if it is achievable). This is a great opportunity to learn a heritage skill and experience the satisfaction of creating something with your own hands.
