I’m a British Army Veteran (Queen Alexandra Royal Army Nursing Corps). Unfortunately after 22 years of service, I was medically discharged in 2018 due to PTSD. The Military’s Mental Health treatment plan for me included EMDR, CBT and medication. However, I completed Help for Heroes recovery courses, during which, one of the activities really stood out for me and helped my mental health more than anything: I’ve never been creative or had the imagination or patience for anything arty farty! But I was encouraged to try the ‘Engraving on Metal Workshop’. I’m so glad that I took part as I really enjoyed it. Mental health wise, I found it very helpful and I’ve carried on engraving on metal as a hobby ever since. I would like you to experience this “Feel Good Activity” which is easy to learn and fun. I have now taken a big step forward to set up and run some workshops of my own. I hope to see you at one.

"We’ve done a lot of different experiences on ‘Craft Courses’ but this was very different. We both found it surprisingly relaxing and quite easy once we got used to it. We came away feeling great with a personalised metal box which I’m going to use to put my rings in. I would actually pay much more for the workshop. Highly recommended. "

"Tracy and Sarah gave a warm and friendly welcome to the workshop. I'd never done metal engraving before but with their instruction and passion for the craft was able to pick up the techniques and engrave a lovely keepsake. I'd recommend the workshop to anyone wanting to have a go at this craft. It's only a couple hours of your time, affordable and definitely a 'feel good activity' ☺️"
