An introduction to journaling for mindfulness: research shows that mindful journaling improves psychological wellbeing, increases feelings of happiness, life satisfaction and productivity. This course covers all the basics of mindful journaling, including creating beautiful, personalised front covers, structuring your journal and creating different types of pages. We also cover hand lettering and creating beautiful fonts to turn your journal into a work of art. The aim is that our clients leave us feeling inspired and empowered to begin their journal journey, having had a relaxing day of reflection and creativity.
What's included in the price?
Included in the course: - Your own journal kit, including a beautiful quality journal, hand lettering pen, practice booklet, stickers, washi tape and an affirmation card. Everything you need to get you started! - 6 hours of supportive tuition in a small group from two qualified teachers. - Extensive journaling resources (papers, stickers, washi tapes, stencils, etc) for you to help yourself to. - Lunch with a beautiful view across a Peak District valley (all dietary requirements catered for). - Refreshments provided throughout. Hello, I’m Laura James and I created Flourish because I genuinely believe in the value of art to practice mindfulness. Having held a busy role in education and, more recently, become a mum, I use creativity as a way of taking some time out for myself, embracing the present and rebalancing my mind. I have designed my workshops to combine the proven benefits of mindful journaling with creative techniques such as hand lettering in order to provide my clients with a day of relaxation, reflection and, hopefully, inspiration to start journaling. So whether you’re looking to begin mindful journaling, improve your lettering or simply carve out some time for yourself, you are very welcome to join me in our beautiful Peak District setting to learn about the process and create your own, beautiful and unique journal.
