Welcome 😃 I'm Jo Garden. I call myself a 'facilitator' as my joy is enabling people of any skill to achieve something they did not expect, plus have time away from the everyday stresses of normal life.
My sculpture & slate mosaic workshops are broken down into small stages which result in amazing sculptures and works of art regardless of your artistic ability (honestly). If you purchase a kit, there is a full length video of me making the sculpture which you can watch as many times as you wish. If attending a workshop, my peaceful studio is tucked into the garden surrounded by trees and wildlife making it a very tranquil and stress busting.
I run several workshops a month but am often booked up for months in advance. If you book a long way in the future, I do make contact if I have cancellations and can move you forward.
Please do not hesitate to message me if you have any questions. Jo x

"I've been agonising about how I can possibly give credit to Jo for her amazing craft courses. On a practical level everything you need to produce a wonderful piece of art is provided including drinks and treats. The studio is in beautiful surroundings and the care taken by Jo and Andy in its creation and the garden in which it stands, make it a peaceful, relaxing and memorable place to be.
Jo is an extremely gifted artist. She is also an excellent and empowering teacher. After receiving clear instructions at each stage of the process, we are left to work at our own pace. Jo has the rare knack of knowing exactly when to offer advice and also more practical help when needed. She is kind, caring and funny all of which provides the perfect atmosphere in which to work. At the end of my 2 days I left with my beautiful greyhound sculpture. I can't thank Jo enough for enabling me to produce such a beautiful piece. My thanks also to Andy for all his hard work and support.
If you're thinking about signing up for the course - do it. You will be so glad that you did."

"Wow Georgie - what a beautiful review - I am very humbled. Your Greyhound was simply gorgeous, and I loved the way you went for the combination of bronze patina and rust as a finish. Never been done before and the alchemy worked perfectly. It will keep ageing and changing over time. Well done 🤗 Jo xx"
"What a wonderful experience from start to finish! Great communication from Jo before the course.
The day was simply amazing! Relaxed, a perfect pace, and extremely well explained in bite-sized chunks. It was so well organised. And incredible fun. The best bit was coming away with a hare which looked like a hare, and which I will be proud to put on show!
Jo was also very generous with teas & coffees, and happy for us to stretch and wander around her beautiful garden when we felt the need.
I would highly recommend the course. All credit to Jo for the thought that has gone into its delivery, and a big THANK YOU making it a day to remember. "
Jo Garden Art responded:
"Thank you very much Sam - it's my absolute pleasure being able to facilitate the day. I'm a bit of a 'nerd' when it comes to preparation and it always pays off 😂. Delighted that you love your hare, Jo x"
"I can honestly say I was completely blown away by this workshop. To begin with an armature and build your chosen subject, to see it take shape and come to life, to take home the most amazing sculpture... it just doesn't get better than this! Jo is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, funny and takes you through this fabulous journey, set in gorgeous surroundings. I can't end this review without a nod to the equally knowledgeable and helpful Andy, without his armatures wouldn't be possible. "
Jo Garden Art responded:
"Thank you so much Chris - your large cat with aluminium whiskers was fabulous and will look amazing in your garden. Thank you for mentioning Andy - he is the backbone of this workshop with his wonderful armature welding. See you back in the studio later this year! Jo x"
"Absolutely amazing two day sculpture workshop. Jo was endlessly helpful and encouraging, keeping all of us on track for a totally successful and beautiful sculpture to take home. Each day was packed with action and laughter while we learnt foiling, plastering and final finishing to produce our masterpieces. I so wish I could come again - best two days ever and a lovely reminder when I look at the verdigris cat in the garden (a small running greyhound was a special bonus to take home on the second day). Well satisfied, thank you to Jo and Andy who built such imaginative armatures, and thank you for sharing your lovely home and garden with us during the workshop."
Jo Garden Art responded:
"What a fabulous review Davina! Thank you so much. Your cat was wonderful and will look amazing in your garden. Well done on making up the greyhound kit during the cat's paint drying time. I hope you enjoy finishing him off at home. Jo xx"
