Joe reviewed: Pyrography (wood burning ) Course with Kez Halliday

"I went on the Pyrography course because it is something my work wanted us to venture into. I am not from an art background, however, I thoroughly enjoyed my day with Kez and even with my limited artistic skill I managed to come away with something I was proud of. Kez was very friendly and is a great teacher. Highly recommended. "

Philippa Snellgrove reviewed: Small outdoor plaster hare sculpture kit (30cm) with full video instructions by Jo Garden Art

"This is such a fabulous crafting experience. I was gifted the small hare sculpture kit and made time over the Easter holiday to concentrate on making it. The kit itself is brilliantly put together and carefully packed, with top quality materials from the paintbrush through to the gilt paint. I followed Jo's video tutorial which was perfect. As Jo was making her hare in real time it allowed me to keep up without feeling pressured, and in fact made it feel a bit like I had some company as I crafted as well! It really doesn't take that long to make although I did leave my painted hare to dry overnight. I had one minor query when my plaster cracked a little as it dried and I emailed Jo, who came back very quickly with some helpful advice. A fabulous experience from start to finish, and I am delighted with my final moon-gazing hare 'bronze' scuplture."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Philippa - what a lovely review 🤗. So glad you enjoyed the process and ended up with your lovely moon gazing hare - thank you for sharing the photos with me. The side profile of your hare's head and folded back ears is just gorgeous. Well done! Jo x"

S Morris reviewed: Glass Fusing Flowers and Under Sea Taster Session

"Fantastic course - we attended with 2 children (aged 8 and 10) and it was perfect for them as well as the adults. All the glass was pre-cut so just needed to use our own creativity to make the pieces. Glass was fired and returned to us quickly too and we are pleased with the results."

Sophia reviewed: Stained Glass using the Copper Foil Technique

"I had such a lovely time at this workshop. Elaine was knowledgable, encouraging and very open to our choices and tastes. She was welcoming with tea and biscuits and lots of chat, and spent so much time guiding and advising to make sure I left with something I was happy with (which I did!). Beautiful setting in Elaine’s gorgeously planted garden and made all the better by regular visits from her adorable little dogs. I had the BEST time, thank you Elaine! "

Paula reviewed: The Garden Plant Support

"I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Having already made one several years ago elsewhere, I wasn't initially sure I'd made the right decision, but Nikki and her husband were both so friendly and helpful throughout the session, and the whole process was explained to us prior to starting. It was really interesting to hear about the different processes the willow goes through to produce different colours, and lovely to have the opportunity to use all of the variations. They are both constantly on hand for help and guidance throughout the session, and I was so pleased with my finished obelisk. I've had several compliments from fellow allotmentiers and have decided to place it at the front of my plot for passers by to admire!"

I liked that Mike talked a lot about the wood and why we needed to carve/treat it in the way he instructed us to. It was a nice mix of listening, learning and doing. I am definitely going to buy some carving tools as I want to carry on making spoons haha :D "

Holly reviewed: Half day leather accessories workshop

" I recently took part in the half-day leather working craft course and had an absolutely fantastic time. The instructor, Vajira, was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and generous with her knowledge, which made the session both informative and enjoyable from start to finish. Over the course of the session, she guided me step-by-step through the process of creating a beautiful leather journal cover with a wrap. I learned how to cut leather, saddle stitch, and properly finish the piece – all with thorough explanation and demonstration. I left the session not only with a piece I’m proud of, but also with the confidence to continue leather working on my own. I highly recommend this course to anyone curious about leather craft – especially beginners! Thank you for the wonderful session, it was a pleasure to get to know and learn from you. "

Kate Browne reviewed: Beginners Machine Knitting Saturday Workshop

"Fab taster in machine knitting! Rachael is really friendly, calm and an excellent teacher. She really knows her onions and talks through everything at a manageable pace. She tailored my learning to what I was curious to know, so by the end of it I had lots of samples of different types of tension, different punchcard patterns, increasing and decreasing lengths, AND a scarf similar to the one I was wearing that I was keen to recreate. Thank you Rachael!"
