With around 30 years experience of training people and working in conservation with trees and green wood work, you will be sure to learn more than just the basics of spoon carving and whittling. Having learnt the professional and safe carving techniques from some of the best out there, I will pass on these skills so that you can also carve safely and with confidence at home, or improve on your technique.
"Had an excellent kids session with Alan yesterday. Three kids aged 8, 11 and 12 years. They all thoroughly enjoyed it. Alan tought them various techniques, how to use the tools safely and how to sharpen and maintain the tools. We all learned a lot and Alan did a great job of reassuring two very anxious parents. "
"I had a great day learning to carve a wooden spoon! Alan took us through the process step by step, teaching us how to use the tools safely and properly, and with plenty of breaks where we had delicious homemade food. Alan was a kind, patient, and helpful instructor. All in all, a very fun and memorable experience!"
"Can really highly recommend this course if you're looking to learn how to carve spoons and have a great day out at the same time. Alan and his partner Sim were so welcoming, and Alan had a lot of knowledge to share regarding the skills needed to carve safely and effectively. Sim's cooking was absolutely delicious too, and we were so well fed! We had such a great time on this course, I can highly recommend it to anyone reading this review :) Thank you again, Alan and Sim."
