I'm Mike Craig, a green woodworker based at the Otley Chevin Forest Park which is situated above the picturesque market town of Otley, West Yorkshire.
I have over 20 years experience as an educator in countryside management and wildlife conservation and over 10 years experienced as a green woodwork course tutor.
The only thing I enjoy more than carving green wood in a woodland setting is helping others to discover and develop their own green woodwork skills.
"Myself and my son attended M.C. Woodcrafts' Spoon Carving Taster Session last Saturday and had a lovely day in the woods with Mike learning how to safely use sloyd and spoon knives to carve a spoon. Mike's teaching style was very natural and easy to understand. I learned lots on this course and really enjoyed the whole experience. It doesn't matter how many YouTube videos you watch, this kind of teaching is in a different league. Thanks Mike!"
"A really great day with well structured teaching in a lovely location.. I learnt loads. Came away with an almost finished spoon and enthusiasm to make more."
"Great experience, was a great course. Mike was very knowledgeable and helpful. Taught us each knife skills at the right time. "
