Originally starting out on my creative journey making rustic style wirework jewellery, I further developed my art skills to include folk art painting, dot mandala work, block printing, and folk art style felt designs. I have taught adults for many years within the NHS and university settings, earning a post graduate teaching qualification for adults along the way. I now enjoy teaching in a more relaxed atmosphere specialising in courses and workshops for adults. I run my workshops in Cumnor, Oxfordshire. I am also the creator and organiser of Crafty Boaters Handmade Markets in Lechlade-on-Thames
"A truly lovely day spent aboard a warm and cosy narrowboat with a fabulous welcome by Sarah & Martin. The course was great fun and Sarah is a very patient and excellent teacher, who took us through the basics for creating necklaces, earrings and pendants, and as we progressed introduced us to more complex techniques.
I thoroughly enjoyed my day, which was both productive and relaxing, and a truly lovely way to spend time with friends. I was amazed at how quickly the time went and what we managed to achieve in the time.
I am looking forward to the next course making Christmas Decorations."
The Crafty Boater responded:
"Thank you, glad you enjoyed the day. Looking forward to seeing you on the next course."
"Where do I start...! What a wonderful day. The setting on Sarah and Martin's boat was just lovely - especially with the fabulous wood burner and Frobisher the cat for company (I hope I spelt his name right!).
We were instantly made to feel very welcome, and Sarah took us as slowly as we needed through basic wirework to enable us to create some lovely earrings, pendants and necklaces. We had a great selection of beads and colours of wire to choose from, and, as we progressed, Sarah showed us some more complex wirework, and the day just flew by!
I was so pleased with the items that I managed to create, and even took them to work to show my colleagues, who were also suitably impressed.
We had such a good time, we have booked in again to have a go at making some wirework Christmas decorations, and I am already really looking forward to it.
Highly recommended. :0)"
The Crafty Boater responded:
"Thank you!
You really got to grips with wirework and made some lovely jewellery. It is always a pleasure to have people on board for our courses in our more unusual and quirky craft course venue."
