Description

Learn how to make your own silver wire using a drawplate and drawbench. Turn your silver scraps into fresh wire instead of buying new pieces each time you have a new idea! On this one-day course with Elia Rizzo you'll learn all the correct steps to melt your metal from scratch and turn it into a wire of you preferred shape and size using the appropriate equipment. You will learn how to prepare all the equipment for melting your metal, how to choose which ingot mould is best for your specific project, and how to pour your metal successfully and safely. Finally, learn to hammer and roll your metal to then feed it through the appropriate drawplate. Round, square and rectangular shapes will all be covered, if you have a specific shape request let us know before booking and we'll see if it can be included. By the end of the day you'll have a whole set of new skills, wire in your required size and shape; made from scratch by you with Elia's expert assistance and support.
