Beginners 2 sterling silver stacking rings jewellery course
Description
This is a beginner's ring making course offering a friendly, informal introduction to the craft of jewellery. In this 3-hour class, you will learn to saw, form, solder, hammer and polish your own jewellery. No previous experience is needed as this is a perfect class to start that curiosity into the world of traditional jewellery making. I certainly encourage you to learn to make a good quality piece of Jewellery. Right from the start i.e filing well, using the correct amount of solder and finishing the rings to look professional:) This class is to hand make 2 rings per student (cost is per student.) and is run as a private session for one-to-one, or up to 2,3 or 4 people max. Please bear in mind with 2 or more people in a class we may run overtime. "This is my most popular course and really gives you an insight into traditional jewellery making from my garden studio in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. You'll go home with lovely rings made by yourselves:) Makes an ideal gift for many occasions such as a mother and daughter class, birthdays, anniversaries, friends' catchup days etc. Sarah Madsen is a BA Hons Degree Jewellery Designer from Central St Martins College, London. She will be teaching you to hand-make your own two stacking rings in sterling silver. Using 2 mm sterling silver wire. This thickness will give the rings some substance to the ring bands and also a realistic heads-up to working in metal.

Once upon a time, (many moons ago!) I was so fortunate to be able to attend Central St Martins College of Art & Design, London. I now work as a full time, self-employed Jewellery Artist. Using Silver and 18ct Gold with gemstones and some enamel. Using various techniques such as texturing through hammering, forging, wax carving, stone setting, etc are used in my work, all from my own studio in Cambridgeshire, U.K. I still love to draw and paint when I can.
