One day silver jewellery designing and making workshop
Description
My name is Bridget Bradshaw and I am an award winning graduate from Birminghams School of Jewellery, and I have been qualified to teach for over 12 years. The aim of the day is to develop your skills in the craft of jewellery making whether you wish to pursue it as a hobby or an income. This is a one day Silver Jewellery workshop can be run on either a weekday or weekend, whatever suits your needs. It is one to one tuition. This gives the student a more thorough designing and making experience than you would get from a large class. By arrangement I can have two students. (Discounts available please ask for more information) The workshop is for beginners, or people that have a small amount of experience, who wish to develop their skills. The day will include an introduction to the tools in the workshop, which will be used throughout the day and Health and Safety procedures will be discussed. The workshop is fully equipped with hand tools, power tools and larger pieces of equipment that can enhance your piece of work by adding texture or colour. Workshop days are tailored to suit the requirements of each student. We will discuss your simple, achievable design, that you have chosen to make and develop this design into a piece of jewellery that you can take away with you. You are encouraged to be creative and to use your imagination when researching what it is you would like to make. Guidance on your design can be given throughout your booking process and on the day. Please don't hesitate to ask if you are unsure as to what is achievable. If you need some suggestions as to what you can make please let me know, and I will be more than happy to help. Prior to the day I will need to know and discuss your design ideas, in order to agree what is and what isn't achievable, this will then enable me to order in the 925 Sterling Silver that you will need to make your own unique piece of jewellery. Techniques will be taught, such as how to cut, shape and solder silver, bending, drilling, forming and folding if your design requires it. Finishing and polishing will also be included. Parking is provided on site. During the Covid 19 situation students must bring their own refreshments and a packed lunch please
What's included in the price?
All my tools and equipment will be at the disposal of the student. Please note-----This course does not use precious metal clay. Metal (Sterling Silver) to make your design, is purchased by you, on the day at an extra cost. If any jewellery findings, chains or gemstones are required, these can be purchased also. No recycled metal, such as old jewellery, that is no longer worn etc, can be used on the day. Attention...please note, Due to the ongoing situation regarding Covid 19, more health and safety restrictions will be in place. You WILL be expected to provide your own PPE. Hand sanitisers, disposable gloves and anti- bacterial wipes will be available to use. Every effort will be in place to ensure the safety of both my student and myself.
