"It’s a fantastic course-I have now been on four lots of sessions at Studio Budgie Galore and hope to keep going. The first introductory session introduced all of the techniques and now the ongoing classes enable me to be more creative making lots of different pieces under the supervision of Melissa and Jules. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of giving this a try."

Lynne Strawbridge reviewed: 2d needle felted pictures

"The venue was lovely, a brilliant space to work with all essential facilities very close by. There was a friendly welcome upon arrival, I was given a seat and told there were lots of pairs so the seating had been planned in advance, a very good idea so those together could sit together. The class was informal and very interesting, all materials were included in the price, with a small shop for those who wanted to purchase items to use at home. I was amazed at what you can produce with felt, there was lots of examples and inspiration. Every one made something brilliant with expert advice given in a very friendly way. An excellent class with lovely people, I will definitely attend further classes and would highly recommend to others"

"Thank you so much for such a lovely review. It was a total pleasure and I loved the idea of placing a photo on the finished piece set in to the flowers. Thank you also for recommending us to others as word of mouth is the best review we can have. We look forward to seeing you in March!"

Doreen Sadler reviewed: Needle Felting Workshop Owl Brooch

"I have now attended three felting courses and have thoroughly enjoyed every time. It is a very friendly workshop and Millie is so patient and she believes no question is a silly one which makes you feel comfortable asking them. It is small classes so it is easy for Millie to be with everyone on hand to help. I travel 60 miles to get to these classes, that says how good they are and Millie's sister Jane makes the most wonderful cakes. That's an incentive too."

Alexandra (age 11) reviewed: Parent and child blacksmithing

"I did the Parent and Child blacksmithing day in January 2018. It was so much fun! The instructors at the forge were so lovely, and they really helped me and my dad to make something wonderful. When we went we had an idea of making a garden obelisk, with a few leaves, caterpillars, and maybe a large leaf on top to act as a bird bath/feeder. What we came out with surpassed all of our expectations. It had leaves, a butterfly, snails, a spider and web, a dragonfly, mushrooms, creepers, and the large leaf on top! We’re so pleased with it and it now takes pride of place in front of our kitchen window. It’s lovely as well because on the day-courses, there’s no need to worry about having to take a packed lunch. On the Parent and Child course, the forge provides a delicious picnic lunch, and on the adult courses you are taken down to the local pub. I should mention too, that in September/October last year I did a home-education course of three hours each Friday for five weeks, in which I made: a poker, a snail sitting on a leaf and stalk, a heart spoon, a chess set and more! All my experiences at the forge have been great fun and I’ve always felt welcome."

Marilyn Phipps reviewed: Needle felt your dog with Crafty Gal

"I so enjoyed this fabulous day with Denise who is a brilliant teacher; encouraging, patient and helpful with a good sense of humour. I started the day not even knowing what needle felting was, feeling very doubtful that I would be able to make anything worth keeping. As it turned out I amazed myself with the lovely badger that I made (and amazed my family too!) I really recommend this day to anyone. It’s a great opportunity to get away from all the doom and gloom in the world, be in good company, enjoy lovely food in a super setting and go home with a little treasure."

"I thoroughly enjoyed the Upholstery course Philip did and the way he thought us all. I had quite a challenging chair, but Philip kept me going and encouraging me to move onto the next stage until I almost finished the whole project. The atmosphere was lovely with everyone chatting and supporting one another. Fantastic way to spend my weekend :) Thank you Philip for teaching me yet another skill. Alini"

Fee Ritchie reviewed: Needle felt your dog with Crafty Gal

"I have just spent a wonderful day stepping off the mad 21st Century treadmill with Denise and my fellow felting novices. What a brilliant introduction to felting. Denise is an engaging, down-to-earth lady who explained and demonstrated every step and gave us all the materials and support we needed to produce our own, completely adorable, dare I say it, little masterpieces to take home. Denise's lovely home and superb culinary skills added an extra dimension to the day. I cannot recommended this course enough - if I had my way, I'd sign up to attend every week."

"Fabulous day with Mike - Feb 2018. Very knowledgeable about all things concerning forestry & wood-working. Personable, entertaining and very easy to get on with. The 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed the day and learned a lot about woodcraft. Started off with a huge tree branch and ended up with 3 big wooden spoons. Something different for us to do as a family - relaxing and in wonderful surroundings. Would definitely recommend, and hope to return."

Louise reviewed: Willow workshops

"I enjoyed a beautiful sunny late winters day making 2 obelisks to take home. I learned so much, the instruction and demonstration was excellent! Sharon gave me some extra tips and ideas for making other plant supports at home too. The lunch of a bowl of warming soup and a roll was delicious to. My neighbours saw me walking the obelisks into my garden and thought I had bought them, they were surprised when I said “no I made them” with a big smile on my face ? I would definitely recommend this course to anyone!"

Sharon Pottery Classes responded:

"Thanks Louise for the review I am glad the course met with your expectation, the weather was a bonus too! It was good to work with a professional gardener."

Helen Meadows-Wooe reviewed: Art classes - sculpture

"I've been attending Ivan's sculpture classes for just over a year now and have found these classes to be a fantastic route to expressing my creative side. I went along as a total beginner. Ivan is very supportive and helpful with regard to idea development and the technicalities of creating your vision. I have worked in both clay and wire so far, but there are many more mediums to explore. I find my time there to be both challenging and relaxing, and I gain inspiration not only from Ivan but also from fellow class members. I highly recommend this course."

Kay Wilson reviewed: Introduction to Spoon Carving

"I spent a really enjoyable, fun, hands on day with Chris and the other course members on Saturday learning a bit about this craft. Chris is extremely knowledgeable and patient, and considering I have never picked up a saw or an axe before, and was a bit nervous of using very sharp knives - I have come away with my very own spoon that I made from a block of wood! The pace of the course was just right, and there were 5 of us in total that attended the workshop, which was a perfect number so that Chris could give individual guidance and support. As others have mentioned, the lunch was fantastic - like a Famous Five picnic :) I would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone."

Varinia Joyce reviewed: Three day course in upholstery and soft furnishings

"I attended the 3 day soft furnishing course after deciding that I needed a roman blind for my spare room and "Why don't I learn to make it myself?". I hadn't done any sewing since school - some 30+ years ago - what could go wrong? Angie was an absolute delight and took my lack of knowledge in her stride. She is such an enthusiastic and patient teacher and is happy to tailor her teaching methods to the student - one lady on the course struggled to visualise things and so Angie encouraged her to make her own templates - marvellous. The setting is gorgeous and the atmosphere in the workroom is really relaxing with the stove burning and the dog luxuriating in front of it. I learnt a great deal over the 3 days and left with a thirst for more knowledge. I shall definately be signing up for another course in the future."
