Three day course in upholstery and soft furnishings
Description
There are 3 students on this course and Angie introduces them to the wonderful occupations of either upholstery, soft furnishings or loose covers so that you can go home and transform your homes. She has been teaching for nearly 18 years from her home just outside Matlock on the edge of the peak District and aims to find a happy balance between learning and enjoyment. Some suggestions as to suitable projects are as follows: Upholstery - a fireside, winged armchair or a bedroom chair, traditional dining chair, headboard, footstool (small to very large and we can provide frames at additional cost) are some suggestions. Projects can be traditional or modern. Please note that larger projects are unlikely to be completed in 3 short days so to start off with it is better to bring one or more smaller projects. Please consult Angie if you are unsure what is suitable. Soft furnishings - a loose cover for a small bedroom chair without arms, a small pair of curtains, one or more roman blinds, scatter or box cushions, pelmets, bedspreads and valances etc. Space is limited so no huge curtains.
What's included in the price?
Tea, coffee, homemade cakes and biscuits are included in the course fee but please bring your own lunch. You need to bring sufficient covering fabric for your projects but other upholstery and soft furnishing sundries can be purchased form our stock and must be paid for at the end of the 3 days. If you are in doubt please contact Angie via the 'chat with the maker' button.
