Description
Due to the popularity of our Blacksmith Experience Days, Viking Knife Classes and Dragon Making classes, we have decided to add a special experience day for all the juniors who want to have a go at metalwork. The class is tailored towards 8 years to 15 years, who come with either Dad or Mum. The options are fairly open, are discussed before attending the class, and are designed with the child and their aspirations in mind. We have designated some days, usually Mondays, but if the date you want is not listed, please send a request and we will attempt to accommodate if at all possible. Please note: we generally reserve Saturdays for adults which is at the full price of 260 per person.
What's included in the price?
All equipment is provided, however access to power tools is limited to adults for obvious safety reasons. We have a full selection of hand tools, and of course they will be using the hearth for forge-work as well. Everyone must wear sturdy footwear but we will supply safety goggles, gloves aprons, etc, (some items may only be available in adult sizes). We have a selection of smaller hammers, and aprons are adjustable to suit most sizes. Of course whatever is made on the day is theirs to take away, the cost is for one parent and one child (£200 per person including vat). Tea, coffee, and soft drinks are provided as well as biscuits, but we don't go to the pub unlike the other courses, so please bring a packed lunch (we have a microwave if needed).

All the classes are based on a 2:1 or sometimes 3:1 Instructor to Student ratio to ensure that you get the maximum attention without being intimidated. The smallest classes are two pupils and the largest nine, but we tend to aim for a class size of six students with three tutors.
Yes, we are located on a farm and can always find somewhere for you to park.
You can, but with a few restrictions: you will not be allowed in the work area or to stay for a long time, but are welcome to stay for a bit and drink a tea and coffee (we may even ask you to make the class a cuppa for the morning break!)
