Pottery wheel throwing and hand building full day
Description
This day long course provides a thorough introduction to the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel and some contrasting and alternative methods of making by hand. There are many processes available to the studio potter- throwing being only one of these. Coiling pots is a relaxing and creative technique that requires less training and tutoring in order to achieve satisfying and varied results. The skill which is demonstrated during the afternoon is a method that can be taken away and practiced on an individuals kitchen table and requires very little equipment, most of which can be found to hand in all domestic settings. This is a particularly useful course for those wishing to explore alternative studio methods and may consider taking up making.
