"The afternoon was brilliant! Lindsey was very organised, explained and demonstrated things clearly, created a friendly, relaxed environment, and made sure that everyone was included and had everything they needed to produce three beautiful candles. Morgan Middleton reviewed: Pottery wheel throwing and hand building full day

"The experience with Richard was really really great! It was a calm and tranquil atmosphere, very informal and explorative. Richard gives clear and concise directions, yet still allows you to be creative. He’s very friendly and approachable. We learnt two pottery techniques and it just made us want to go back. Will definitely recommend to others, and go back to do it myself!! The experience would be a perfect gift for others!! The soup was also fabulous!"

Andrew Poyner reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"I attended my wood turning course on Wednesday 28th November with Mark after a self induced wait due to house refurbishment with my lathe moth balled in my workshop. The prolonged wait was thoroughly justified as any intervention prior to my tuition would have been disastrous. Mark's style of tuition is incredible. The one to one teaching is second to none and the attention to detail of both instruction, theory and practice is unbelievable. He is patient and tremendously encouraging which instills confidence in the student. I felt very proud of my efforts which Mark was only too pleased to commend. I am now totally hooked on my future in wood turning but will no doubt make future contact with Mark to further my education. If you are looking to start out in the hobby of turning then look no further that Mark Hancock. Thanks Mark for a truly memorable experience."

Jasmine reviewed: Pottery Tuition ~ Learn how to Throw on the Potter's Wheel, Slab-build and Coil in 1 Full Day's Attentive Teaching

"I had such a wonderful time spending the day with Sonya in her lovely studio. I'm an Art teacher and wanted to improve my skills and confidence in Ceramics. I went in without any idea of what I wanted to create and came out with a beautiful vase which was made up of a mixture of hand thrown pieces and some slab built pieces. Having Sonya work with me 1:1 was brilliant and she was able to tailor the session to suits my previous experience with clay which was great. She was also able to share her experiences of teaching in a school which was really useful. I loved it so much I'm thinking about getting my own wheel and kiln. Thanks Sonya!"

Sonya Ceramic Art responded:

"Thank you Jasmin, it was a pleasure teaching you and you are such a natural! Your final piece is amazing...degree standard! It is drying at the moment and then once fired you can pop back to decorate it and learn about the Alchemy of glazing! See you soon...Sonya"

Ann reviewed: Two person 'Have a Bash' at Blacksmithing course in Shropshire

"I really loved the day with Jake in the workshop and surprised myself by being able to make a poker and four hooks in the time. Jake was an excellent teacher. Very encouraging. Helped when needed but allowed us to have a good go by ourselves. By the afternoon session I felt pretty independent which is surprising in one day and with such a new skill. Thanks Jake. You were great !"

Ann Hoare reviewed: Luxury Christmas decorations (full day) with the Cheshire School of Glass

"We had such a lovely day. Jenny was so kind and patient. I had never worked with glass before and was surprised how easy it was to cut. We made masses of decorations and the next day , after they had been cooked , Jenny had very kindly put beautiful hangings on the backs and ribbons to match. I found this very relaxing, which I never though glass work would be! I'm a amazed how fearless i became of the material. Good fun."

Samantha Critchley reviewed: 'Glass for the garden' with the Cheshire School of Glass

"I have never worked with glass before, so I wasn't sure if this course would be appropiate for me. I would encourage anyone who has no experience in glass or has had a go before to do this course. Jenny taught me to cut glass with ease , create original designs ( even though I can't draw! ) and learn how the fusing technique works. At the end of the course we were given a well made metal structure to hold our glass work."

Jacqueline Lawrence reviewed: Intermediate glass fusing at the Cheshire School of Glass

"An excellent two day course full of useful information, lots of handouts and plenty of high end materials to experiment with. Jenny catered for eveyone's previous experiences in glass. Some of us had done courses with Jenny before, some elsewhere. A good mix of technical theory and practical to really give you a grounding of glass fusing. We made a lot of quality pieces in two day. I felt we all really had our moneys worth. Fab course. I recommend it."

Eve reviewed: One day leather work course - small leather goods

"This is definitely one of the best 1day courses I have attended! It was fun and informative and in a great setting too. The group was small, so there was plenty of time for everyone to practise their skills with guidance from Jason. We all left with lovely handmade leather goods we had made ourselves. Thanks Jason!"

"This course was amazing! It was my first attempt at doing anything to do with glass, I'd been wanting to try something for a while and it did not disappoint. Graham Lawless reviewed: 1-to-1 tailored course with one of the UK's leading glass artists Jennifer Barker, at the Cheshire School of Glass

"This course was exceptional. Jenny is so warm and friendly, but even more importantly a true professional. If you have thought about setting up a business or just having a glass workshop Jen provides all the key information and skills to get you set up. I made a mountain of stuff as well. I thoroughly agree with a comment someone else has put... Jen is exceptionally generous with knowledge and materials. Graham Lawless"

We were made really welcome with drinks and lovely cakes and I learnt a lot of skills within the 3 hours - enough that I have successfully completed the piece I started and inspired my two boys (8 and 10) who are now well on their way to completing their first pieces. I'm now well into my second piece of work and have been purchasing lots of wool to make more textured work."
