Ellen Morrell reviewed: Crafts in the Valley - Batik textile workshop in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

"Absolutely fantastic! Myself and two friends attended Melanie's studio for the Batik workshop. We were greeted with warmth and friendliness. We were made to feel at home. I learned so much but was not overwhelmed with information. The atmosphere was very relaxed. Throughout the day, Melanie passed on lots of techniques and skills, was very informative and helpful but at the same time, allowing us to let our own creative juices flow. Her teaching method was superb! As a result, we have booked another course. Great value for money. Can't recommend Crafts in the Valley highly enough! As a bonus, fantastic surroundings!"

Elaine Iljon Foreman reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"I did a 2 day course on my own with Mark. I had been taking up woodwork with my husband, and we were going to have a course for both of us. Sadly I lost my husband - but decided to carry on with woodturning on my own. Mark was brilliant! Patient, encouraging and very clear. I can't recommend his teaching more highly. Any ladies out there thinking of taking it up - or improving your skills - go for it! Elaine"

Helen reviewed: Crafts in the Valley - Batik textile workshop in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

"I had a great day doing this batik class - Mel ran the class extremely well, enabling all of us to finish beautiful pieces. She gave us all the relevant information at each stage, and there was always the opportunity for questions and help available when needed, with either technical aspects or inspiration. I would highly recommend this class (and all her other classes too!). Mel is a great teacher and a lovely person."

Ann Matthews reviewed: Beginners Pottery Day Course

"This is an excellent course, I had no experience at all of pot throwing, and as a complete novice did not expect to make as many things as I did: 9 items in all, not counting the ones that didn't work. Matthew is an excellent teacher with plenty of patience. It is a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I highly recommend the course."

Dimbleby Ceramics - Studio Pottery Courses responded:

"HI Ann, Thank you for the great review, I had an excellent time teaching you and watching your skills develop throughout the day.It was great to see the look on your face when we put all the pots together and you realised just how many you had made. Best wishes Mathew"

Jones reviewed: Needle Felting Class

"I attended this class and was absolutely delighted with the bear that I made. I attended with friends who created a dog and a fox. We were all very proud of our acheivements and never thought we would be able to come out with something presentable. Yvonne is a very patient tutor, even when I broke a few needles. The list of what we want to make is endless, we have been back a couple of times and will definitely be back for the Christmas session creating something for us to keep for years to come. Thank you Crafters Emporium and House of Grace and Daisy"

The Crafters Emporium responded:

"Thank you it was lovely to meet you all."

Sue Nichols reviewed: Glass Fusing for beginners

"I had never done any stained glass work before so was amazed at what I managed to achieve on the day. My driftwood and stained glass piece has a pride of place catching the light in my window. Gigha is a fab teacher and the course is relaxed and well taught. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and can't wait to do some more glass work. I have already enrolled in some studio night sessions. Sue"

Angela reviewed: Introduction to table loom weaving, Fisherton Mill, Salisbury - Two day workshop

"I had a lovely time at the hand loom workshop, Ellie was a very warm, welcoming and supportive teacher - the time flew by and I left having learned about weaving, tassels and knots! and came home with my prize of a woven artwork which I had made all by myself. The venue was also really great, alongside all my fellow weavers - a really wonderful way to spend an evening. I left, with hand loom to continue learning and practicing... I'll be back Ellie."

Elka responded:

"Hi Angela, thank you so much for the lovely review. It was a pleasure to meet you and I'm so glad you enjoyed the workshop. See you again :)"

Shir Raiter reviewed: Bladesmithing experience day

"I was very impressed by the website & the reviews on it. Coming from abroad especially for the one day course, it was very important for me to have a memorable good experience as a metal-works lover. Steve was very kind & a friendly interesting person with lots of know how & patience to teach. My experience at his very well equipped workshop was great. Our work was all documented in photos & videos on his Instagram. The knife was forged to my personal preferences, according to the possibilities & Steve's guidance. I warmly recommend this workshop experience. Have fun!!!"

White Tiger Knives responded:

"Hi Shir I am really pleased that you had such a great day making your knife with me. Choosing to do a bladesmithing day with me while you were on your holiday from Israel was an honour for me and it was a pleasure to meet your parents as well. I hope you have your blade in that vice you told me about and proudly on disay in your room. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday. Kind regards Steve"

Rebecca Bruce reviewed: Architectural homage freehand machine embroidery or drawing with thread workshop

"I attended one of Stacey's workshop's last year and I cannot recommend highly enough. I walked in one morning not even being able to stitch a button onto a coat and left in the afternoon with a piece of freehand embroidery artwork that I was really proud of! Stacey's teaching is positive and inspiring as well as knowledgable and allows anyone, be it a complete beginner like myself or a honed professional embroider, to accomplish fantastic personal work. The setting of the workshop is beautiful and when there were times for a break I loved looking out onto the golden sands of Margate beach. I live in Kent but found the journey to The Sands Hotel really easy - It was a 10 minute stroll from Margate train station. I will definitely be booking again."

Donna Krasnow reviewed: Fascinator millinery workshop

"Two friends and I spent a wonderful 3.5 hours with Elena in her Fascinator workshop and each of us ended up with a fabulous Fascinator. We can’t believe we made them - they look professional. We giggled and laughed through the whole process - such fun. Elena is a great teacher. Yes, making the edging is a bit tricky but wait until you see what steam can do to shape fabric. If we can do it, you can too. It was a highlight of our time in London."

elena shvab millinery (GLGL Services UK ltd) responded:

"Dear Donna, It was my pleasure meeting you all. Thank you so much for coming and well done on fabulous hats that you created yourself! Best, Elena"

Liz Winant reviewed: Lino cutting in Rye, East Sussex

"This is a wonderful day class for novices, under the expert and patient guidance of Stephen. The studio, in a beautiful rural setting, seems itself to encourage creativity, and there are many examples of Stephen's work all around to add inspiration. An added bonus is the warm hospitality of Stephen and his wife. I hope to be able to go to his card making class later in the year. Highly recommended!"

Steve Duffy responded:

"Thanks Liz It was an excellent day and I am very pleased that your prints turned out so well!"

Anna reviewed: maltese limestone carving at mount pleasant gardens

"I’ve been wanting to do one of Andrew's courses for many years. Finally I attended one last week and it was brilliant. The setting in Mount Pleasant Gardens is stunning. Andrew's individualised teaching style created a relaxed informal atmosphere enabling everyone to master the tools and techniques. A great group of people all left with a sculpture to be proud off. I can hardly believe I’ve made mine! If you’re pondering on whether to do this course, don’t wait years like I did."

Elaine reviewed: Creating ceramic animals courses - with James Ort & Alison Pink

"Highly recommend this course, the surroundings are so relaxing, James and Alison are inspiring, and the clay animals you produce are almost unbelievable, your confidence just grows. It's a full on day, with lots of fun, a great lunch break where you get to know fellow students, it beats any courses I've been on. I'm looking forward to having more fun, learning new skills, and immersing myself in producing amazing animals in such a caring environment. I'm looking forward to doing more at the Phoenix Studio, what a place."

Carole H reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"I was lucky enough to get great weather again while visiting Lucy to continue work on my bangle. It was great to see the baby birds - visibly older - still going to the feeders in Lucy's courtyard. The focus of the day was using silver tube for the setting of a small CZ stone. Lucy is very patient: a distinct advantage with something so fiddly. This is where having the one-to-one tuition comes into its own. Moving on then to some tricky soldering to attach the mount, before I know it it is time to leave having had a wonderful day and happy I've learned so much. Thank you Lucy."

Heidi Storey reviewed: Upholster a chair seat or drop in top for a stool

"A really enjoyable day. There were only three of us so lots of help from Anne, who was knowledgeable, attentive and helpful. She was an excellent tutor who clearly has both lots of experience and a passion for sharing that experience. Thank you."

The Little Vintage House responded:

"Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It was lovely to meet you last Saturday and great to see the transformation on your chair. Good luck with the rest of the set, I'm sure they will look great. Best wishes Anne"
