Stained Glass using the Copper Foil Technique

X

Description

Come to my South Norfolk workshop and immerse yourself in a day of artistic creativity and take yourself on a journey of discovery into the fascinating world of stained glass. Using the Tiffany technique you will be guided through the various processes of cutting, grinding, copper foiling and soldering resulting in a stunning stained glass sun catcher to take away on the day. This workshop is a 1:1 or a 2:1 experience. I am more than happy for larger groups of up to a maximum of 5, but I need to hire a local hall to accommodate this, so please message me through the website to request and discuss. There will be a choice of templates to choose from on the day and this workshop is suitable for beginners with no previous experience. If you have a specific idea of what you would like to make in terms of a suncatcher, please do let me know before the day by either sending me a message and or a photo to allow me time to consider whether the project is achievable to complete in the time and agree any modifications if necessary. Please also let me know when booking what time you would like to start (09.30, 10.00 or 10.30). Teenagers are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Unfortunately, due to the lead content within the soldering process, pregnant ladies and nursing mothers are not permitted to attend this workshop because the exposure to the soldering process which contains lead could cause damage to an unborn child or infant. Please wear closed in shoes and bring along a long apron on the day. Rubber or kevlar gloves are optional to bring.

What's included in the price?

Included in the price is a large choice of glass, all the necessary tools, equipment and safety wear (face visor, nitrile gloves and a face mask for soldering). Tea, coffee, biscuits and cake will be provided. Please do advise me of any food intolerances before the day of the workshop.

FAQs

I understand that stooping over a work station for several hours can be very uncomfortable. Please message the tutor and let her know if you are over 6Ft tall and the grinder will be elevated to make life easier. Unfortunately I can not adjust the height of the table used for glass cutting.

It is preferable to stand whilst cutting and grinding glass. It is not impossible to sit but it does make life more difficult. If in doubt, please message the tutor before booking on this workshop.

Yes, free off road parking is available.
