James Mouser reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"I attended a one day course as a 40th Birthday present from my Wife. What a fantastic experience. Nigel is certainly a skilled Blacksmith with a great sense of humour. The work shop itself has a variety of historic equipment that we simply don't make to the same quality these days. The course would suit all ages and sizes. A father and son and a more mature gentleman went on the course with me and all of us produced pieces we are proud of. Nigel broke down the process in to steps that were easy to follow and he adapted the course to suit the group. Starting slowly and gradually building up as we gained confidence. We certainly got a full day and got value for money. I do have one regret, that I didn't do a two day course!"

Richard Chapman reviewed: Blacksmithing Introduction courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"What a fantastic experience I've always wanted to have a go but what a perfect place to start Adrian and Debbie certainly know how to put on a perfect course nothing being a trouble . Debbie really does know her stuff when it comes to home baking Victoria sponge to die for and apple crumble wow . Adrian and his assistant kept his eye on all of the group with a great sense of humer and expert advice . It was a perfect day and will be back and would recommend it to all . We all made a large flower forged the leaves made the petals . When I arrived home with it under my arm the look on my wife's face priceless . Thanks again will be booking again . Richard"

Dax Hewitt reviewed: Blacksmithing Introduction courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"Fantastic day. This is the second course I have done with Adrian, Debbie and Andy. The day starts with a warm welcome and a hot drink and an informal chat where you get to know the others on the course and the organisers. Then it's in to it, a H&S briefing from Aidy followed by a demonstration of the first process then you pick your fire and anvil and put your first bit of steel in the coals. The next 3 to 4 hours are spent heating and hammering various bits of steel with Aidy and Andy moving between forges giving hints and tips and having a laugh and a joke with us all. Then it's lunch time and Debbie puts on a great spread. After lunch it's back to the heat and hammers. The day finishes with a hot or cold drink and a big slice of cake as we all inspect each others work and have a bit of a Q&A with Andy and Aidy. I (well my wife) is now the proud owner of a 4ft tall garden flower. Looking forward to my next course with these guys."

Penny gaisford reviewed: Beginners crochet course - in Trowbridge, Wiltshire

"i have been wanting to try crochet for ages but am left handed and trying to learn from books difficult. I came across Lynn's course online and rang her. She was welcoming and friendly from the first phone call and the beginners lesson yesterday was great fun and I learnt a lot. We learnt several stitches with Lynn guiding us at every step and then a choice of items to start to make. We laughed a lot and I have already booked another class in May which I can't wait for already. Lynn is a good teacher and I would highly recommend her classes to anyone."

"This was a great course. Lynn was very friendly & patient and happy to show you the stitches again. We practiced the stitches & then made a coaster. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone that wants to learn to crochet. I really enjoyed it."

Zoe reviewed: Creative encaustic wax 2 hour taster session

"I was looking for a creative outlet when I came across Phil's website. I'm not artistic but I enjoy colour and shape, so the freedom of this creative work looked like it would suit a novice. I took my sister and my twelve year old niece. We had an absolute ball! Phil's enthusiasm is catching and the technique is calming and engrossing. All three of us were completely engaged very quickly. I'm very proud of my efforts and am all three of us are now looking forward to going again to develop other techniques. Thank you Phil."

Megan reviewed: Green Woodworking - Make a Shave Horse - 1 Day Course in South Devon

"I have wanted to build a shave horse for over a year and finally have a beauty to work on! Was a really good course, Peter was very patient and guides you through new techniques. Can't lie it was hard work but at the end of the day you have a cracking contraption that fits in your boot and you can take with you to workshops to whittle and carve where ever you fancy."
