The course that I went on yesterday and today was absolutely brilliant. Excellent informative teaching as usual and you have a great depth of knowledge and experience in both fused glass and stained glass. Thank you for all your help this weekend and I am now the proud owner of a beautiful stained glass panel. I will not hesitate to recommend your courses to family, friends and aquantences alike. This has been a top drawer experience for me."

"This course was a complete escape from everything! The only sounds to be heard apart from birdsong and the occasional lowing of the nearby cows was the tap tap tapping of the six of us - totally engrossed in our blocks of stone! Ben was friendly, welcoming and encouraging as well as being an excellent and thorough teacher. Each of us received his patient guidance and undivided attention when we needed it. Despite us all being strangers with very different visions of what we would make, I felt very comfortable to try the different tools and techniques out, as he created such a lovely relaxed and supportive atmosphere. I am not artistic and I am over the moon with my sleeping cat! Thank you so much, Ben! - I’m keen to come back to do my Labradoodle! "

"An outstanding and inspirational course. Alan Micklethwaite, our instructor, is a master stone carver and a top level teacher. After a friendly welcome and introduction from Alan and Tracey, we discussed design options and selected from a range of stone options (sources and characteristics very well presented). Alan's teaching style was one of explaining and demonstrating a technique followed by letting us get on with putting it into practice, adding further tips whenever needed. As the work progressed, he'd introduce the next skill to be learned and again step back to let us gain confidence in it while advancing the carving. A great deal of other information was shared through conversation during the day. I have continued refining the carving back at home and it's looking good. I now find myself paying close attention to carvings in stone on buildings with a new awareness of the skill and time required to make them. This was a very enjoyable day and I thoroughly recommend it. "

"I had a wonderful afternoon yesterday at Loucinda's Metal Shed. A highly talented silversmith, she also makes a brilliant tutor. She only takes four people at a time so she can attend to all our needs. I was quite nervous because I can be cack-handed and clumsy! Loucinda put me at ease and calmly showed us each stage of creating a pendant. I'd love to be able to include an image of the final product because I'm very proud of it! "

"On Thursday I did something very different and had the BEST day on the first copper and iron sculpture day! We started the day by discussing our ideas and what we wanted to make (My drawing abilities are awful but they understood what I was trying to draw! 😂). Every member of the team taught me with patience, explaining and teaching me every skill I needed to make my vision into a physical piece of art that I could then take home and treasure in my garden forever! Not only did I learn to hammer, shape, solder, watched welding and learnt basic blacksmith skills such as tool work and how to manage a gorge fire, every member of the team came together and helped me with parts of my project and the passion and enthusiasm these guys have for their art is infectious! I would highly recommend this course to everyone and can’t thank the team enough for a wonderful day! "

"My dad and I had a great time on the Wood & Resin serving board workshop class which I had bought for his Christmas present. Alex was very knowledgeable and explained everything clearly. He was also incredibly patient as I was a complete novice in anything woodwork related, whilst my dad was more experienced but it was his first time working with resin. There was a wide choice of pigments we could use in the resin which meant we were able to be as creative as we liked and both came away with very different designs and we can understand how each board ends up completely unique."

"My husband and I had a great time on our Introduction to Bushcraft course. It was great to be able to try out so many different new skills and techniques (and Matt was very patient considering I was a complete novice). Matt was very knowledgeable and explained everything clearly. The woodland was beautiful and quiet apart from the sound of birdsong. A very relaxing day! The tea/coffee and biscuits were a bonus, and we were very impressed with the compost toilet!"
