Description
During this workshop, you will learn the unusual technique of weaving willow into a rope to form a unique rope coil basket. You will also learn how to use packing to add shape and form and can experiment with natural and dyed willow to add colour. This rope coil basket workshop is suitable for all levels – beginners and above. All tools and equipment will be provided. Please bring old warm clothing. Workshop Tutor: Justine Burgess of West Wales Willows. Justine originally trained as an engineer, and worked in the charity and education sectors, before becoming a partner in West Wales Willows with her husband, Alan. On their smallholding in Carmarthenshire, they grow around 250 varieties of willow and sell it as cuttings and rods during the winter for others to grow, as well as selling their own willow products and sharing her expertise through workshops. All proceeds from our events and holidays are ploughed directly back into managing our 40 acre nature reserve. Thank you for your support and please do come to visit soon.
