Summer Gelli Plate and Monoprinting Workshop

Description

Discover the art of Gelli Plate and Mono printing in this hands-on workshop! Using layers, stencils and masks you will experiment with layers of colour, pattern and texture to make unique prints or cards. Perfect for beginners or those looking to try something new, this class is a fun and creative way to craft beautiful, personal artwork to take home. About the Tutor Rachel graduated with a BA (Hons) in Printed Textiles from Loughborough University (formerly LCAD). Shortly after, she received her first commission for site-specific hand-painted backdrops, followed by further commissions for printed textiles in churches and building atria, as well as wall hangings for domestic interiors. As a qualified adult education tutor, Rachel has extensive experience leading a variety of print and collage workshops for children and adults across the UK. Additionally, she works part-time as a Digital Textiles Technician at Winchester School of Art, where she provides technical support and workshops for BA and MA Textile Design students in hand and digital printing, fabric dyeing, and CAD. Important Note  We have a coffee shop in our centre if you would like to get refreshments before the workshop but we suggest doing this 15 minutes beforehand.

The Dart is a community venue for all ages who wish to engage with arts, crafts and music. Our centre-run courses are led by professional practitioners or artists in hour long, half or full day workshops.  We encourage local artists to exhibit in our foyer, sell work or perform at open mic nights. The Dart boasts specialist rooms for dance, drama, art and music which are available for hire throughout the evenings and weekends.
