Lino printing workshop - full day linocut block printing for beginners & improvers

Join printmaker Vicki Jordan for this fun day of linocut printmaking - suitable for total beginners and those with some experience of lino printing. You will be working on one approx. A6 design, using two lino blocks and two colours. I will guide you through all the steps, including: - planning your design - transferring your design onto the lino - carving your design - inking up your plates - registering your plates (lining them up with each other) - printing your design Please have a think about ideas for your design before the workshop, and ideally bring along some sketches or drawings to work from. However I will be bringing various books and illustrations for inspiration should you need it. The workshop will run over the whole day, with a break for lunch (please feel free to bring a packed lunch, or maybe you would prefer to try one of the great eateries in New Mills!). An apron (or wearing old clothes) is recommended.

What's included in the price?

- All tools and equipment are provided for use during the session. - Coffee, tea and biscuits included. - You will take home your finished lino plate, plus any prints you have made during the session. Please note that I will *not* provide tools or equipment to take home. However, there is the option to purchase basic lino cutting tools at the end of the session. Please bring along an apron if you wish, as well as an old magazine to transport prints home with.
