Lino printing workshop - introduction to linocut block printing
Description
Join printmaker Vicki Jordan for this fun session to learn the basic principles of linocut printing, and make your own beautiful linocut prints. You will be working on one postcard-sized design (10x15cm), and I will guide you through all the steps, including: - planning your design - transferring your design onto the lino - carving your design - inking up your plate - printing your design, either using my portable press or by hand-burnishing. I have various books and illustrations for inspiration but please feel free to bring along your own sketches or ideas. No printmaking experience required. An apron (or wearing old clothes) is recommended.
What's included in the price?
- All tools and equipment are provided for use during the session. - Coffee, tea and biscuits included. - You will take home your finished lino plate, plus any prints you have made during the session. Please note that I will *not* provide tools or equipment to take home. However, there is the option to purchase basic lino cutting tools at the end of the session.
