New for 2025 - Explore Tetra Pak Printing in Derbyshire
Description
Next promoted date: Saturday 15th February 2025 - 4 places available. Join artist and maker Liz Wellby on the edge of the Peak District, with an introduction to Tetra Pak Printing. Tetra Pak Printing is an intaglio method of printing where marks are made into a plate (a Tetra Pak) with an etching needle or small sections of the card are physically removed. Your plate will be inked using intaglio etching inks which will be brushed into the lower layer and the higher surface with be wiped clean to create highlights and mid tones. Plates will be run through a press with dampened paper, enabling you to create a small edition of prints. It is a fun and expressive method of working. No previous printmaking experience is needed and this workshop will also suit printmakers looking to explore a new technique. Liz will host the workshop at her studio - The Slipper Studio. The venue is beautifully presented, with handcrafted workbenches and a wood burner, with views down into the village. About the tutor: Liz Wellby is a versatile and experienced artist, teacher and maker, with a particular interest in sculpture and printmaking. Following the completion of a Fine Arts degree at Loughborough University and subsequent post graduate studies, she returned to Derbyshire, where for over 25 years she has lived and worked. Liz now lives in a small village on the edge of the Peak District, working from her home studio - The Slipper Studio, kept company by her husband and a cat called Bert. It is possible to arrange this workshop on different dates; should you wish to book 3 or 4 places for friends and family, the cost is £95 per person or £135 each for 2 people; please contact me via ‘message the tutor’ if this is of interest or you have any questions or queries.
