Printing photos on textile, ceramic and polaroid transfers. For winter, trade the cold for a short day course immersed in light and chemistry. For beginners curious about timeless techniques, and the bridge between digital and handmade. A taster of alternative photographic methods transforming photographs into 3D artworks with polaroid lift, Van Dyke and Cyanotype, while pushing boundaries of photographic materiality by transferring images onto wood, fabric and glass. You’ll learn how to create digital negatives from your own photographs, and transform them into tangible prints and objects using the Cyanotype or Van Dyke process. We’ll also experiment with Polaroid Lift, transferring images onto unusual surfaces - you will be able to chose from wood, fabric, or glass. Over an immersive day, you’ll craft unique, personal artworks while gaining insight into craft based photographic methods. This course is limited to 6 participants, for a personal and hands-on experience. Course Agenda: 1. Introduction to alternative photography processes. 2. Overview of Cyanotype, Van Dyke, and Polaroid Lift techniques. 3. Creating digital negatives. 4. Step-by-step guidance to prepare negatives from existing digital images. 5. Printing with light and chemistry, explore Cyanotype and Van Dyke processes to create unique handmade prints. 6. Polaroid Lift Transfers: learn to apply your photographs onto unconventional surfaces like fabric, glass, or wood. 7.Personalised support: hands-on time to create your own works under my guidance. Level: Beginner friendly class. This course is designed for beginners, no prior experience required. You’ll be guided every step of the way to ensure you’re comfortable and confident in the processes. What to bring: photographs (on your phone, or send ahead of class).

Hi I'm Magda-Polish visual artist and photographer working from my West London studio. With a great passion for historic photography and printmaking techniques, I produce my own work and teach creative methods of printmaking to fellow artists, beginners or those who wish to spend some time getting creative. I been running courses and workshops for the last 10 years, across UK and internationally, for various art institutions and galleries including Kew Gardens, Facebook (Meta), University of Arts London, British Museum, CitizenM, my work was commissioned by BBC and The Macallan & showed by WeTransfer & Vogue. As an educator I strive to provide unique experiences for local communities and participants of all levels of experience: adults, seniors, children and adults with learning disabilities.
