susan hodgson reviewed: Forget Me Not Embroidery/ Crewel Panel

"I received my forget me not embroidery panel today. It was well packaged, and the design is delightful. Just the right size for a beginners embroidery.( or experienced ) I can’t wait to choose the colours, and get started. I had to get in touch with Annie, and she got back immediately. It has been a pleasure to deal with Annie, and craft courses, they are very helpful."

Annie Morris responded:

"Aww thank you so much! Enjoy your stitching time x"

Joe Gregory reviewed: Catherine Edwards 2 Day Leather Bag Making Course – Creative With Nature

"I have attended 4 of Catherine's courses now at creative with Nature. As a professional weaver I use leather in some of my work so being able to access these course locally has been brilliant for my development. Cathy is a very patient teacher and I'm really happy with the progress I have made with her. So far I have made a Leather apron that I wear every day for work, a leather tool roll, a messenger bag and a saddle bag. I'm really looking forward to learning the leather backpack later in 2022"

Eugény Couture reviewed: Introduction to Candlemaking

"This was a birthday gift from my partner. As it was a surprise I didn’t know what to expect until the day before I attended. I spent a lovely day with Wendy (I had two courses booked) and had lots of fun making candles with her. She is very patient and knowledgeable so didn’t leave any question unanswered. Her little boutique is very welcoming and tidy so the whole experience was very enjoyable. I think I’ll be able to make candles on my own thanks to her clear teaching + leaflet she gave me before I left."

Nancy Shafee reviewed: Large size resin art mistletoe kit. Beautiful translucent bunches of mistletoe with shiny berries.

"Great fun though some of the mistletoe berries broke off their stems. I loved doing this and may well be hooked! It would be helpful to include info on how to get the colour off one's fingers - I managed to have green fingers (literally!) for our boxing day lunch! Think I need to make the flowers next and progress to the wreath for next year's Christmas! You are based near me - do you plan any face to face workshops?"

Inion responded:

"Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and I am glad that you enjoyed the kit. If you go to our website and look at the Instruction Sheets you will see a Guide to using and storing resin dip, which gives all the information re getting it from your fingers. However, it does peel off quite easily when it is dry, rather like nail varnish. We do advise in our kits that you look at these guides. The mistletoe berries need very gentle handling, and the wires have to be carefully twisted apart or the berries do tend to break off. We only found this out ourselves very recently, when one of our customers who has arthritis asked us to separate the berries before we posted them, - so sorry we could not add it in the instructions. The mistletoe berries we had last year were not so "fragile" and could be handled more roughly. Yes we do plan face to face workshops and we advertise them on our website and here on Craft Courses. We did plan to hold some in January but have hesitated because of Covid, but are hopeful for February. Watch this space!"

Jason Hurndall reviewed: Blacksmith Experience Day - Anvil Forge

"I attended the Blacksmith Experience Day at Anvil Forge with my son and we had a wonderful day, interesting, enjoyable and very fulfilling. We were both able to make a very impressive knife each to take home; this from scratch with no experience. I can only say it was down to Spencer's tutelage. He was patient, knowledgeable, helpful and very supportive and took genuine pleasure in seeing his students do well. I recommend this day to everyone, even those with no experience or confidence will be swopping stories and comparing your handiwork by the end of the day. Definitely want to go back."

Anvil Forge responded:

"Hi Jason thanks for your feedback , I am pleased both you enjoyed the experience and look forward to meeting you again best wishes John"

Barry Holden reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"This was my first woodturning experience since my school days 50 years ago and I really enjoyed my day with Simon. His enthusiasm, experience and knowledge was invaluable and I am now looking to purchase my own lathe and tools. As well as detailed instruction on various techniques, Simon also spent time explaining how to select and sharpen the tools, dust extraction and safety equipment. I was delighted with the bowl and decoration that I made, and my family and friends also seemed impressed. My wife attended the pottery course with Louise on the same day and they both made us feel very welcome, including an enjoyable lunch."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi Barry, Thanks for a lovely review; you were a pleasure to teach and we're glad you went away feeling that you got the most from the day. Any help required, please don't hesitate to get in touch. -- Simon & Louise"

Phil Maud reviewed: Welded steel Dragon fly course for two people , half day 3 hours with award wing metal artist MetalRoger Russell

"I struggle with welding and have tried other courses before. Roger managed to identify that I am having problems with my eyesight - I'm off to buy glasses! He ran through the necessary equipment - I now want to buy a TIG welder and he was patient as I struggled with technique. I can now see that I need a great deal of practice to get to a level where I can achieve the kind of projects that I am hoping to achieve. It was certainly a worthwhile experience."
