Description

Please note: the course fee of £285 is for two people 3 hours. This half-day, 3-hour course is an introduction to artistic welding for beginners or experienced metalworkers. You will learn basic arc welding. Arc Welding is not hard once you have been shown correctly. I will explain in a way novice can understand. You will soon be welding like a pro. It's just practice and good lighting. Please note, students must be able to read close up detail, 1mm at around 8 inches or 200mm, with reading glasses if required. One person option for this course can be found via 'see all listings' below. The course will teach you how to weld steel, rod, and for both P material using an Ark Welder, which is the easiest type of welding to learn, and requires no gas or other equipment. I have taught many, mostly ladies, how to weld in my 30 years running workshops. The best way to learn to weld is to make something, so we will be forming some metal into shapes to weld together to form a basic metal sculpture depending if you have a half day, or a whole day course. This course is suitable for anyone thinking of buying an Ark welder, try before you buy. Advice and support is offered for anyone wanting to set up their own welding shop. If you have an ark welder bring it along, I will test it for you. Please bring a note book to write down the important information I teach you. Please wear jeans, or overalls and boots. If you are doing a two day course and require over night accommodation, there are Air B & B close to me. Any questions please select "message the tutor". Thank you for looking, Roger.

Maker

I am a wire sculpture artist and teacher of my craft. I have been making wire sculpture with tin copper wire for over 30 years. Soldering skills are the key to my sculpture work. 30 years of working with heavy duty and very fine wire, enables me to make a wide range of wire sculptures from 14 gauge wire down to 36 gauge. With welding and many other fabrications skills I am able to make and teach a wide variety of sculptures in a wide variety of materials in fine detail.
