Chris B reviewed: Full day leather craft workshop

"I had a lovely, relaxed day in the workshop learning a range of skills and creating 5 items that I’m really pleased with. Rosanna is a great teacher, the workshop is small but cosy and the steady pace of the day made it rather therapeutic (although I wasn’t exactly ‘relaxed’ when I started on the machine stitching for the first time!). There was great freedom in what to create and how you wanted it to look so everything I created feels personal. I’d highly recommend this or any of the courses Rosanna offers and may we’ll be back myself one day!"

Wendy reviewed: Jewellery design workshop - silver pendant or silver earrings

"Sheila was incredibly welcoming, the workshop room was full of tools and equipment and Shelia explained how to use it all. It was great to be given a choice of what to make and Shelia helped us all to develop completely different pieces that we were all very happy with. Thank you very much Sheila for a wonderful experience... we will be back!! Wendy, Vicky and Jenny."

Sarah Markham reviewed: Beginners art kit

"Thank you for the kit. It would have been nice to have some explanation of what each item is, how to use them and to what effect. There are 4 boards at the bottom of the kit, I assume for painting or chalk drawing, but all their corners have been crushed in transport. Maybe they were just there to support the package? I’m sure I’ll have fun experimenting, but I’m feeling a bit disappointed to be honest"

Heddfan From Narberth responded:

"I’m so sorry to read this….. yes, the boards were there to protect the good stuff. Hope they did their job. ?? I never assume that customers are novice or confident in using the different media but had you advised that you needed any sort of guidance I would have been happy to help. Maybe check out some tutorials on YouTube for ideas. There are quite a lot of different techniques you could apply to these materials. Hope this helps. Happy arting."

Richard and Wendy Shires reviewed: A relaxing day of clay making

"We had a very relaxing and productive day with Trisha in her lovely studio. We learnt how to make pinch and coil pots and create vessels from slabs, and produced about 16 pieces between us. The chocolate tiffin with tea and coffee kept us going until a delicious lunch in her cosy kitchen. We are looking forward to returning in order to glaze our efforts. An excellent experience which we couldn’t fault. Highly recommended."

Linda Parker reviewed: Special purchase of Large Hare Sculpture Kit with Turntable - bespoke purchase as agreed with Jo Garden

"Jo was so helpful and friendly when we spoke on the phone. The kit arrived at the time I requested. It was so well thought out and the instruction video was very easy to follow. The large hare was great fun to make, I did it over several days. I was delighted with the end result, and Arthur now lives in our sitting room. ( I couldn’t bear to put him outside) Would recommend Jo’s kit to anyone. Thank you"

"The jump rings process continues! In addition, Lucy spent time during the day explaining how to set up a mouth blown torch, including adjusting the pilot light, changing the nozzles for different flame sizes, and general maintenance. All totally brilliant, useful stuff! Thank you Lucy. Can’t wait to continue my project."

Globalidentity reviewed: Forge a Knife- Blacksmithing and Knifemaking Experience Day

"Had a great day with John. I've done a previous blacksmith's day making a candle stick holder and a fire poker elsewhere and this was just as good. Made a fantastic knife and lots of good feedback from my grown-up kids on the results - so it must have been good. Will have to try and think of something else to make so I can go back again."

Daniel Sandford Smith reviewed: Forge a Knife- Blacksmithing and Knifemaking Experience Day

"My son and I spent a really enjoyable day at Jon's forge. We both made rather different knifes which we are really happy with but as much as being happy with product we really enjoyed the process. Jon is a really good teacher, friendly and knowledgeable. He is really good at knowing where to offer advice and help which means that it feels as if you have made the knife even though you know you couldn't have done it without it. Highly recommended."

Sarah Price reviewed: Blacksmithing for Beginners - Full Day Forging for Two

"I attended yesterday with my Dad as a birthday gift. We both thoroughly enjoyed our day with a blacksmith. Chris is very knowledgable and patient, a great teacher and guided us through each stage and technique. This is a hands on course. Arriving as complete beginners thanks to Chris we were taught and used forging techniques to each create a really attractive detailed large key ring/ pendant. You don’t need to be strong or have previous knowledge. You complete each stage yourself but under very close guidance and Chris is there to step in and help as needed. Thoroughly recommend this course, it was a great day."

Jenny reviewed: Beginner woodwork - 1 to 1

"Philip was amazing! I’ve always wanted to build a dolls house but didn’t know where to start. Philip was recommended to me and through several correspondences we came up with a plan. Philip accommodated my brief while adding his own expertise. I wanted to do as much of the build as possible, but knew my limitations, so Philip did all the main cutting and I now have a kit to complete in the summer. He responded to my emails promptly and was so helpful, I never felt anything was too much for him. I’d definitely use him again and would highly recommended him. My grandchildren are going to love their dolls house!"

Quicksticks Workshop responded:

"You're very kind Jenny. Thank you. It was an interesting project to help you with and I'm sure it will be satisfying when your tools out and finish the assembly and decoration. The photo instructions are comprehensive, but you know I'm on call if you need any clarification. I look forward to a photo of the finished job :o)"

Ann reviewed: Fused Glass Half Day

"4th January 2022- 3 hour workshop - Ann. I booked this workshop for my sister's birthday and we both had the most fantastic time making our own creations. Julie was fabulous in explaining the processes and helping us develop our ideas to produce two unique pieces that we both are so proud of. The actual process of making the glass design was so therapeutic and we were amazed by what we were able to create. Would highly recommend Julie's workshop, she was so friendly and welcoming. We had a really special experience in a very comfortable setting and will be booking for other workshops during this year."

Shirley reviewed: HOME RETREAT:Colour therapy: Essential tools to help with your well being

"Unfortunately this was not at all what I expected, and consequently didn't really meet my needs. I was not looking for yoga, cooking, or gardening tips but more about the theory of colours and in particular how to put colours together which would be relevant to my knitting and crafting hobbies. Having had a scientific career, I am understandably sceptical about the mystic and spiritual aspects of yoga and didn't feel this was relevant to the discussion about colour. I didn't really feel I learnt much at all about colour theory, although I can see that this approach would appeal to some. For what was offered, the course seemed very over-priced."

Lucy Renshaw responded:

"Hi Shirley I'm so sorry you had such a negative experience with my Retreat. I'm wondering if this was a gift....As the elements of the course are listed and described on the website. I think you are correct, it obviously wasn't the right course for you. I do however, offer courses, both online and face to face which cover just colour theory, which may have been more suitable. However, my passion lies in the link between physical and energetic colour. There will always be a divide on beliefs and opinions! The course has over 4 hours of footage, but if you were not receptive, I can appreciate your thoughts on the cost. Warm wishes Lucy"
