Lizzie Tucker reviewed: Mosaic one day workshop for adults with Caroline Jariwala, Birmingham

"What an amazing day! Caroline is so welcoming, relaxed and encouraging you can't fail to feel at home. There are visual inspirations the whole house through, you can really feel that Caroline is immersed in mosaic, and her enthusiasm when she teaches is obvious. She tailored the course to meet each individuals needs from complete beginners to professionals. I have been making mosaics for years at a professional level and I still came away with some new knowledge. I loved working in a different medium to my norm and Caroline's thoroughly stocked workshop was overflowing with vibrant colours in ceramics and lots of sparkly glass bits for accents. I can't recommend this course enough, thank you Caroline!"

Janet Eastwood reviewed: Mosaic one day workshop for adults with Caroline Jariwala, Birmingham

"What an inspiring teacher! Doesn't matter if you've never tried mosaic before Caroline guides you through - step by step- and entertains at the same time. It's a really relaxing, rewarding day and you go home with something that you've actually created yourself. Beautiful! (The chocolate fridge cake is also pretty good!)"

"The one day course I took with Jane was wonderful. As a novice, I learned some good foundation skills and now feel I can do some work on my own. I was thrilled with what I was able to accomplish in one day with Jane's instruction and guidance. Very enjoyable day, great atmosphere and fabulous lunch. Highly recommend ."

Jaki G reviewed: Glass Fusing Course for beginners

"Having learnt to make windows, initially, from a wonderful glass artist (Paddy Robinson) in Australia, I looked for a long time to find a suitable replacement after moving to UK. When I eventually found Richard at Rainbow Glass Studios, he was very patient in helping me finish a leaded, sand-blasted and painted window and so I returned to learn fusing, slumping and more painting and then joined the evening workshops. Richard attracts a very comfortable group of 'students', runs very relaxed evening workshops, is extremely helpful and knowledgeable - and all that with the best music collection I have ever experienced in such classes."

Laura reviewed: Tapestry weaving workshop for beginners

"Booked a course with a group of friends and Jane could not have been more welcoming or helpful if she tried. Some of us followed the course Jane created, and some brought their own pictures for inspiration to work on. Jane handled our group wonderfully - giving each of us the attention we required. Jane's studio was an amazing room of creativity. I wanted to move in, it was such an inspiring, light room - a perfect studio space. The course was fully catered, and delicious at that. All in all it was a wonderful day and a fabulous experience. We all left clutching our art with big smiles on our faces. Keep up the excellent work Jane :-)"

Julia Gallaway reviewed: Mosaic, One Day Workshop

"I had always wanted to do a mosaic since childhood, am now 57, so wish I had done the workshop much sooner. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and am delighted with what I took home. The setting was lovely and lunch was excellent. I am going to start doing mosaic myself and would like to go back to Jane for another workshop."

Sue Owen reviewed: A stool making day

"What a great day - it was lovely to be able to work outside and produce something really practical using a lot of skills that I never knew I could manage to do. Eoin and Gail gave really good advice and information and working within a group was very enjoyable. As well as learning how to make a stool, and the transferable skills which would allow us to make other furniture, we also learnt about the importance of woodland management. Alasdair's Gaelic song about trigger fingered Celts and Gail's chocolate cake also helped make a very memorable day."

Joy reviewed: Candle Making Class

"I attended Farah’s work shop yesterday and enjoyed it a lot. This class gives away so many secrets about candle making and her tutorial notes cover everything! However, she advised us that we needed to let the candle settle. When I left the workshop I carried my candle in my carrier bag and the candle moved around before I got home and it went down by approx. 1cm. Next time I'll be a bit more careful. Ooops!"

Kim Bull reviewed: Mosaic, One Day Workshop

"I attended a one-day workshop and had a fabulous day. I had absolutely no experience before attending but still managed to produce something I was very pleased with. Jane was extremely patient and inspiring. She was very hospitable and made us all welcome. Not to mention keeping us fed and watered throughout the day! It was great to spend the day with Jane & her pets in her lovely home. The relaxed atmosphere and setting certainly helped put me at my ease. The day flew by and I would definitely attend again. Thanks Jane!"

Amanda Taylor reviewed: Tilemaking with Richard Miller of Froyle Tiles

"A thoroughly enjoyable 2 days - very intense and very relaxing at the same time. Richard is an excellent teacher whose obvious passion for his subject is infectious. His flexible approach - letting us explore ideas off-piste - was very productive. I know I have come back full of ideas and plan to try some more tile development work at home. If PotClays could make this a 2-part workshop where we could glaze our fired tiles in the second part that would be brilliant!"

Carol Thomas reviewed: Tilemaking with Richard Miller of Froyle Tiles

"A fantastic two-day course with an excellent tutor who provided the opportunity to tryout and practise new skills. I will continue these at home. The course had structure but it was really great that there was still flexibility to follow group interests (which we did) and as a result I am going to tackle creating tiles for a fireplace. Lunch was great - much extra learning and discussion carried out over a variety of food. Richard was friendly, approachable and helpful and his pre-prepared tiles were much appreciated. Improvements - wobbly tables caused problems! I am hoping that Potclays might consider putting on a follow-up course. Highly recommended."

Jane Binks reviewed: PickOne weekend weaving course

"James welcomed us to his bright, roomy, new studio, with warmth and coffee. It's like a sweety shop, shelves of jewel coloured wools, collections of crockery, books I wanted to read - bliss! But we were there to work! There's more to this scarf making than I realised - James was always patient, enthusiastic, and fun. There was plenty coffee, tea, and biscuits, and at lunchtime it was great to be minutes from The Water of Leith and The Shore. Once we had done all the preparations, (most of day 1), we started to weave, and James showed us a variety of patterns. Once you start this, you don't want to stop! It was great to finish off at home, and I enjoyed playing around and experimenting in my own time. James showed us how to finish, and also sent us the instructions, and now I'm finished! Everyone admires my scarf - I am so chuffed. Thank you James!"
