Jenny Wilks reviewed: Powertex fabric sculpture introduction session

"I really enjoyed this course. Despite arriving late Annette still guided me through the techniques required skilfully and I completed a dragonfly garden ornament during just a half day session. I was amazed at how it was possible to make something so presentable in such a short time and in a lovely purpose built room with lots of examples of Powertex creations for inspiration. I also came away with a basic Powertex kit for a reasonable price and am looking forward to make more outdoor ornaments. Thank you Annette."

Lisa Tomlinson reviewed: Upholstery and upcycling furniture and interiors

"What a fantastic day - Lucy was so helpful and experienced. The venue was perfect, she had loads of tips and tricks. She has lots of materials and extras that helped us shape and create our upholstery projects. I so wish I could post a before and after picture of my blanket box. Lucy made us a perfect home cooked lunch and she fuelled us with home made scones and tea coming out of our ears all day. The best thing was we all had different projects and different levels of experience - and Lucy adapted her style to all of us. She was patient, knowledgeable, creative and had loads of tip, tricks and work arounds. I highly recommend the whole experience and one I am going to repeat."

Adrian Ede reviewed: Spray painting - furniture, doors, sculpture, metal, wood, masonry

"A good hands on course run in a well equipped workshop. David was very knowledgeable and able to describe plenty of practical examples of the different spraying techniques being addressed. He was happy to adapt the course content to meet my particular interests (HVLP) and was keen to understand exactly what I was looking to achieve from the course. I came away with a far better understanding of the subject and many tips on how to improve the quality of finishing on my home projects. I would thoroughly recommend the course to anyone interested in spray finishing be they a beginner or someone who just wants to improve."

"Thank you Mathew for a most enjoyable day. Your hospitality, patience and teaching skills with a true beginner was amazing and I produced pots I never thought possible. The studio and surroundings are truly delightful. The course was a 70th birthday present from my children and I couldn't have enjoined anything more. Anyone wishing to try the art of throwing won't find a better teacher than Mathew and it certainly will be a day to remember."

VJN reviewed: Weekend upholstery courses - Oxfordshire & Berkshire Borders

"Philip is a great tutor, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. He was very encouraging and inspirational. We were a group of ten with varying experience, all with very different pieces of furniture, covering a wide variety of upholstery techniques. There was ample opportunity to observe Philip helping each of us with our projects and hence we could learn about springs, webbing, pleating, button-making etc, regardless of whether our own project required it. Throughout the weekend, Philip expertly demonstrated and patiently explained the 'whys and why nots' and answered all the questions we could throw at him. He supplied all the tools needed and explained their functionality and safe use. It was a fun yet very informative and useful course, in a casual and friendly environment. Great value and a brilliant way to spend a weekend - go on one of these courses and you will leave feeling like you have a new Super Power!"

Craige reviewed: Skills - Ultimate power tools

"A self-taught do-it-yourselfer, I needed a course that made a step-change in my ability to use power tools accurately, safely and productively. The Great British Woodshop's Power Tools course did exactly this. David Free combines years of furniture building professional knowledge and skills with an ability to provide constructive feedback; he strikes an ideal balance between explanation and providing opportunity for hands-on experience with a range of power tools. Attending the course is akin to working with an old friend who offers advice on projects and with whom you chat about varying topics that range from tennis to skiing over a sandwich at lunch."

"THe two of us decided we wanted to try some blacksmithing......we were greeted by Mort and his two lovely spaniels and spent time being shown 'how to do it'. Then it's down to you!!! You come away appreciating the fine metalwork we see around us. ITs a great day and you come away with some very basic skills and some examples of work that you have made....( sometimes with a little help from Mort) THanks Mort...really enjoyable day."

Sooz Gilson reviewed: One day silver jewellery making in Worcestershire.

"What a lovely way to spend a day and what a venue. Very clever place to have a cosy workshop. Started off with simple chain making skills and then some copper work. Lunch was spent in the sun on canal side before getting on with making our bangles. I'm wearing mine with great pride! Several mugs of tea and luscious cake thrown in for good measure. Thank you Jonathan, you are a great teacher with magnificent patience, luckily for us!! Would recommend this course time and time again and have done."
