George E reviewed: One day MMA/MIG welding course

"The 1 day welding course offered great tuition and I really enjoyed the day. There's nothing that could be improved on, it does exactly what it says on the tin. *Review written at the welding facility on 30/09/17, hard copy kept at premises."

Mark reviewed: Spray painting - furniture, doors, sculpture, metal, wood, masonry

"Excellent day learning the fundamentals of spray finishing. David, as well as being a thoroughly nice guy, was very knowledgeable on the subject and was clearly very experienced. With maximum number of 2 students, he had plenty of time to listen to our specific areas of interest. While not even David could make me an expert in a day (!) I started the morning with zero knowledge of the subject and left feeling well equipped to set up my own spray booth and take my own skills further. Highly recommended."

Susie Page reviewed: Beginner’s Soapmaking Workshop in Salisbury

"A truly lovely day doing something that I have wanted to do for a while now. I brought my mum along, who was convinced she would cause chaos by her lack of skill; but in the end really enjoyed herself. Catherine was truly lovely; she explained everything, then did an equally good demonstration and then unintrusively monitored our progress, correcting where needed, as we got on with making our own soaps. I cut my soap last night - the final proof that it had all gone to plan - and all was smelling and looking (reasonably - for a beginner!) glorious!"

Jean Harris reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"An excellent 2 days. I came away with a lot more knowledge than I arrived with and a 3 legged stool which is great to look at and completely practical to use. The teaching and the workshop tools were excellent."

Mike Foss reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"What an inspirational teacher Mark is. I did Mark's 1 day wood turning taster course (bought for me by my daughters). This is one of the best experiences I have had, learning from a master craftsman and walking away with a bowl that I can be proud of. Mark's passion for his craft and design aesthetics and safety aspects shine through as he patiently guides you through the equipment and basic turning techniques and imparts that precious knowledge he has to help you through the first tentative steps on what I hope will be a longer journey into the world of wood turning. The whole day was so enjoyable and I thoroughly recommend anyone, beginner or improver to contact Mark and reserve a slot with him - you won't be disappointed."

Catherine Ashton Copestake reviewed: Pottery / ceramics wheel throwing, full day

"What a lovely discovery - a potter and glazing expert on my doorstep! I'd already made some tiles, biscuit fired (my first) and took them along to Lorraine's glazing day workshop. I trained as a 3D designer but know nothing about glazes, so I was a total beginner. Lorraine has spent her professional life in ceramics and is an enthusiastic teacher and a technical expert- she unselfishly gave me lots of detailed information on how to progress my knowledge of ceramics, as well as passing info to a fellow potter she hasn't yet met. A very enjoyable and insightful day and, I hope, a new friend made. I'm looking forward to the next one very much."

Rob Wade reviewed: One day blacksmithing course

"The best teachers are knowledgable and passionate about thier subject. Julian is both and it shows. I chose an ambitious forge (coal tongs) but my slow progess was accommodated. And the end product i am very proud of. I hope to be back for a poker!"

Sarah reviewed: Stained glass summer workshop in Hampshire by Stardust Stained Glass

"I have always wanted to try stained glass and I was not disappointed with this course. The tutor was extremely patient and helpful and demonstrated every step for us. The pace was relaxed and the group a good size so we all had help when we needed it. The home made cookies were a bonus too! I am thrilled with my sun catcher and can't wait to try a full day course so I can make something bigger!"

Andy Toogood reviewed: Blacksmithing Beginners day courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"Adrian, Andy and Debbie made a cold day in March a more than warm and hospitable day. Friendliness exuded from every moment, I travelled for two hours having felt really jaded and worn out from work and wasn't sure if I had the ability to enjoy my 50th birthday present. But enjoy it I did, the teaching was excellent, informative, erudite and witty. I gained so much new knowledge and skills it was truly awesome. Then it was interspersed with Debbie mouth watering fayre, not to mention the array of distinguished cheeses (all with a wonderful local provenance). I am most definitely a late convert to blacksmithing, wished I had done this earlier and I can't wait to go back for my next course. A five star course given by five star people."

Louise reviewed: Jewellery Making & Silversmithing - Weekly Evening & Daytime Courses at Studio Budgie Galore Sheffield

"The studio is well equipped with everything you need, spacious and always warm and welcoming. Following the introductory course which is taught and covers basic silversmithing techniques to get you started you can then attend 8 week terms. There is always plenty of excellent supervision and advice from very experienced teachers. The class sizes are small, the atmosphere is relaxed with enthusiasm and support in abundance. I look forward to my Monday evenings and Jules and Melissa won't be getting rid of me any time soon!"

Martin Cavicchioni reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"This was a birthday gift from my fiancee and what a cracker of a day it turned out to be! What can I say about Nigel that hasn't already been said, brilliant, funny, entertaining and of course a true craftsman and artist in every sense of the word. The workshops reflect Nigel's passion, filled with a fabulous collection of mechanical hammers and tools from a bygone era and the gardens with shepherd huts and sculptures. At the end of the day to walk away with several hand crafted pieces, ( which I was very happy with ) is a true reflection of Nigel's ability to convey his passion and wealth of knowledge to all around him. A huge thank you to Nigel for the best day I've had in years and look forward to booking my next course soon."

Rhian reviewed: 2 Day Silver Jewellery Making Course - Ely

"I discovered Jonathan’s courses via an internet search around a year ago. I’m so glad I took the plunge and went for it eventually. The two days went by so quickly - we had great fun and covered lots during our time working together. I came away with a beautiful silver ring and pendant, plus a copper pendant. Lunch was fabulous - even catering for my special dietary needs with no problems. Plus there was plenty of tea, coffee and flapjacks throughout the weekend! I’ve definitely discovered a new interest and can’t wait until the two day stone setting course I’m enrolled on later this year. If you’re interested in making silver jewellery, sign up on one of Jonathan’s courses - you won’t regret it!"

Paul Sykes reviewed: Spoon carving day with JoJo Wood

"As a complete novice this course was an excellent introduction with a chance to tackle two projects during the day. JoJo's concentration on correct holds and use of the tools in developing situations was most helpful and enable good progress during the day."
