Vicky Taylor reviewed: Wood turning courses

"George I want to thank you so much for such a wonderful day resulting in a beautiful beech bowl. From the moment Susan opened the door I knew it was going to be a fun and relaxing day. After a drink you went through the all important safety issues when using tools and a lathe then we set to to choose a piece of wood. It was great to see my bowl slowly taking shape and you were always patient and encouraging. After lunch, which Susan had prepared for us, we used various different sanding techniques to give the bowl a very professional finish. My family, who arranged my day wood turning as a Christmas present, were thrilled with the end result and I am very proud of my days work thanks to a great teacher."

Karen Bolton reviewed: Can't crochet, won't crochet?

"I can thoroughly recommend this course. From having never done any crochet before I now feel very accomplished. We completed a flower and a granny's square in the morning as well as learning the basic crochet stitches and how to start etc. The course was very enjoyable and Yvonne was a good teacher allowing everyone to go at their pace."

Tasty Textiles responded:

"Thank you very much, keep on going! Yvonne."

Andy reviewed: Box making weekend in Cumbria

"I wasn't sure what to expect after my wife bought this course for me as a gift. On arrival on Saturday morning, Mark asked us to pick the type of box we wanted to make and I thought "there's no way I'm going to make any one of these". I was wrong! Two days later I had a wooden box I was really proud of. Mark's style of delivery, the pace of the course and the workshop all come together in what is a great weekend. I've left with a new sense of belief that I can make stuff, some new skills and a bunch of ideas for spending long hours in the man-shed. I hope to be back for some other courses. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course to anyone with an interest in learning some new skills and actually creating something tangible."

We went through different techniques and I learned so much. With her help I made a silver butterfly. Her own beautiful collection of jewellery inspires. Thank you Sandra."

Andy Hopkinson reviewed: Bladesmithing Experience Day

"Bought this as a generous birthday present by my lovely family. Having been interested in knife-making for a while after watching tv shows like "Forged in Fire" I was very excited at the prospect of having a go myself. Have no doubt, this course delivers that and then some. All the other reviews are entirely right; this is a brilliant day, working through the many steps with clear guidance and help when needed. Just the right number of people and access to equipment. The tuition and coaching is truly expert, and (on the course I attended) everyone had great fun and came away with a handsome knife they felt proud of. I'm hugely proud of mine, and so enjoyed spending a day with Graham and David. I can't wait to go back."

Claire Howe reviewed: Stained Glass Leaded Panel in New Romney, Kent

"I thoroughly enjoyed this one day course. A small group of us, who were made to feel very welcome by both Yolanda and John. Although a bit daunting to begin with (as with anything new), Yolanda soon put us at ease with her very relaxed manner and was a very good & thorough teacher. The room, where we were working, was very light and airy. As all materials and equipment that we required to create our piece of stained glass were provided, the cost of the course was extremely good value. A very impressive lunch, afternoon tea and cake plus hot/cold drinks throughout the day, was exceptional. I am certainly looking forward to my next course! See you both in December."

Mary Oswald reviewed: Custom Leather Working Course

"I traveled from Pennsylvania to attend the 3 day intensive with Nigel in Los Angeles. It was worth every penny. In addition to being a fantastic teacher and selflessly sharing his vast wealth of leather crafting knowledge, he created a relaxing and fun classroom atmosphere. I had such a wonderful experience and came away with new skills and techniques that I can apply to my leather business. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to study under him and hope to do it again in the future."
