Description
Come and spend a morning/afternoon in the woods making a willow bird feeder! These bird feeders are designed for holding 2-3 fat balls, but can also be used to hold natural fibres for nesting or inside the house to store garlic etc. Using Somerset grown willow, you will learn a pairing weave and how to make different types of jigs for different styles of bird feeder. If you're quick enough there may be time to make two! The workshop takes place in a beautiful woodland setting on an organic farm. We are off-grid so have compost toilet facilities and will make hot drinks over a camp fire. A shelter is in place if rain is expected. This workshop is suitable for children aged 10+. Children under 16yrs must be accompanied by a carer or parent. The parent of carer can sit and watch or buy a space and take part as well! Reasonable hand strength and movement is required. (The paths to the woodland are unsuitable for wheelchair users at this time but please get in touch if you have special requirements and we can organised a different spot in the woods.)
