Stained glass intensive weekend – 1st & 2nd February
Description
Have you ever thought about making your own window? But wondered where to start? Strictly for beginners, this will take you through the basics. Running for two days, 1st and 2nd of February 2025. This will be a small group ensuring close attention. During the two days you will learn to: - Cut glass. - Prepare and cut lead. - Lay up and construct a small sample window. - Solder your lead. - Putty and clean. Your tutor will be Chris Walters, a stained and leaded glass window maker with 25 years’ experience. As part of learning these processes you will consider your own design for a future project. This could be anything from a small window hanging to something more ambitious…Chris will be happy to talk this through with you. His aim is for you to head off with ideas and the confidence to put them into action at the end of your weekend. Specialist tools will be provided but there will be a list of items for you to bring along which will be advised shortly beforehand.

FAQs
Both train and bus station are a short walk from the Art Space
There is a car park called station road car park. It is located opposite the entrance of Tesco and it is free (despite it says it is only free after 18:00 and all day Sunday). Alternatively, there are some free spaces by the train station and in some nearby neighbourhoods.
