This weekend course is designed for those who wish to learn about traditional stained glass painting & staining techniques. Students will be introduced to techniques that have been used for centuries. No previous glass experience is necessary. It is not necessary to have any prior painting or drawing experience in other mediums to learn these techniques. The course is also suitable for those who have completed a stained glass or a fusing & slumping weekend or other stained glass courses. During the course of the weekend we will cover: – mixing & applying glass paint. – how to select and use the right brushes – working with wet paint – working with dry paint – mixing & applying stain – kiln preparation – firing for painting & staining Students will complete at least 2 painted & stained pieces over the weekend.

Jude is a passionate stained glass artist & an experienced and inspiring tutor, dedicated to bringing out the best in every student. She has a wealth of experience in designing & making architectural stained glass.  She has been practising professionally for over 30 years. Since then she has created innumerable artworks in the distinctive and vivid style that makes her stained glass truly special. Jude is a member of the Contemporary Glass Society CGS and the Heritage Crafts Association HCA.
