Description
During this 3-day Mixed Media Course you will have the opportunity to make a minimum of two small or one large papier mache sculptures, a copper foiled suncatcher and several pieces of fused glass. You will also be introduced to one other medium delivered by one of our guest artists. Should you discover you have a preference for a particular medium or process there is flexibility to work to your strengths. *Christmas Themed You will have the opportunity to make a minimum of two papier mache Christmas characters, choosing from: Santa, Angel, Snowman or 3 Wise Men. In glass, the focus will be on Christmas gifts and decorations using stained glass and fusing techniques. There is a wide range of patterns and examples to choose from that will help with your designs. Papier Mache You will learn to: Create a wire/paper structure Sculpt with papier mache Select your preferred papers and embellishments Paint/ varnish your sculpture Copper Foiling You will learn to: Cut glass Cut glass to a pattern Grind and copper foil the edges Solder your pieces together Fused Glass You will learn about: How glass reacts in a Kiln Different types of fusing glass Choosing the right glass for your design Assembling your piece ready to fire in the kiln
