Charlotte Cozier reviewed: Firebird Forge Blacksmithing School

"I recently had a great day with my husband in Mort's forge. Mort was so patient with us and I managed to make a cracking trivet which is now has pride of place in my kitchen. It was just the two of us for the day (and Mort's lovely pooches snoozing in their basket!) so we had lots of attention and couldn't have asked for a more hands on experience. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a unique day and would love to go again."

Glenn Blundell reviewed: Four day intensive beginners woodwork course

"I was delighted with this course and would strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about tools and techniques in wood working. The group sizes are perfect, so can spend as much or as little time you need with Ciaran. I felt a real sense of achievement, knowing everything we made was with hand tools. Brilliant!"

David More O’Ferrall reviewed: Four day intensive beginners woodwork course

"After 27 years of corporate life and countless courses, this stands out as the best course by far, partly because woodworking was something I have a personal interest in but also because of the excellent instructor, Ciarán, as well as the stunning location and fantastic lunches at the White Lion. Highly recommended"

"Fantastic course. Rebecca was so welcoming and put me at ease as soon as I arrived. She was patient, kind and very encouraging and adapted the course for me as a profoundly deaf lip reader. I would recommend her to anyone."

Graham reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"Well I never realised there was so much to candles. Kerry not only explained the science behind different waxes and fragrances she told us how to get the best out of any candle. We all produced our own candle, with the fragrance of our choice and were able to take it away after the session. The workshop ( Kerry's kitchen) had just been featured in 'Period Living' and was a joy to be in. Kerry made sure we were all happily fed with her home made cake and had plenty of tea/coffee on hand."

Candle making Workshop reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"So pleased to come away with a perfect scented candle in a glass! Delicious cake and coffee in Kerry's lovely kitchen, and lots of information on how to make, and look after your candle. If you do it right, it will last for 50 hours! Impatient, as I have to wait a week before using it! As well as Kerry's own candles and related products, there are great starter kits available to buy and take home, all at special student prices!"

Christmas Glass Course for Kids reviewed: Kids Glass Making for Valentine or Mothers Day

"This course was brilliant - and I've recommended Glassification to plenty of friends Kate Orwin, the course leader, had all the children under control and completely wrapped up in their projects. They produced 4 items each - all of which I would say were "shop standard" My daughter has already asked when the next course is... and several adult friends are keen to do one too. 10/10!"

Steve Woodcock reviewed: Beginners candle making private workshop - Marlow, Buckinghamshire

"Ok, l know I am a bloke, but I had a great time with 8 ladies at Sarah's class! Sarah packed loads in, including cake and coffee, and is both a really good communicator and enthusiast. I learned loads, came home with some great candles and am now going off to make my own candles. Really can recommend this, such a nice and rewarding way to spend a morning. Her book makes a great aide memoire too."

Marilyn Baker reviewed: Mosaic and Glass Art 2 day Course

"Maggie has been a regular guest tutor at Braemar Creative Arts Festival for several years. Her workshops always sell out very quickly, such is her well deserved reputation. The feed back we get from the people who take the class is always excellent. She is an artist in the purist sense of the word and is inspirational in her teaching, passing on her passion to her students of all ages from teens to eighties."

Annie W reviewed: Furniture painting workshops / Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

"Chrissy and I had a great morning learning paint techniques from Nyree who is an excellent and inspirational teacher. It was good fun meeting and working alongside the other ladies in the group too and I can't believe we learned so much in such a short time. I feel confident enough to have a go at some tired bits of furniture at home and see what happens! Do let us know if you ever want to do a follow-up tutorial, Nyree."

Shirley Robertson reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"Candle Making - What a lovely start to a Sunday morning. The workshop was relaxed, informative and fun. Kerry's enthusiasm for candle making really shines through and she eagerly passes on her wealth of knowledge to everyone. You leave the workshop with some great tips on how to get the most out of your candles by burning them in the correct way - no more wasted candles!! You choose your own fragrance oil and make your very own candle to take home. The end result is a beautifully presented natural soy wax candle in a glass container - very professional!! Kerry is very engaging and made us all feel at home from start to finish. We also enjoyed coffee and homemade cake which was delicious. I would highly recommend this workshop and I am really looking forward to the next one."

Andy Tarpey reviewed: Basic throwing with Jon French

"A very enjoyable 2 days with Jon French, whose relaxed style was very conducive to a great learning experience. There was a range of levels of skill on the course, from people who had been throwing for a while to people who were starting from scratch, and he ensured that everyone made progress. The staff at Potclays were friendly and helpful (as they always are!) and the lunch was fine, providing for gluten-free, vegan etc as required. A few months of steady practice and I'll be looking to book the Intermediate course."

Irene Warden reviewed: The Annie Sloan complete chair makeover Workshop at La Di Da Interiors

"Had a lovely time the last two Saturdays at La di da for Annie Sloan Workshops. Started with the Basics course first and then the following week on the Complete Chair Makeover Course. Steph’s no nonsense, down to earth, friendly approach put us all at ease and made it fun and interesting. Didn’t matter if you were a total novice like me, or had some experience, the excellent tuition meant that every one learnt and took away something worthwhile. The time just flew by! I shall be trying to put into practice the techniques I have learned and then will consider maybe the Advanced Techniques Course later on. Thank you for two very enjoyable Saturdays."

John Latchford reviewed: Introduction to traditional green wood turning course

"I took this pole lathe course on a damp January day so the exercise from treadling the lathe and the tea from the fire kept you warm. Simon is an excellent teacher, breaking down the steps from a billet to creating the final dibber so it was easy to understand and seemed like the right pace; certainly with only two students you get plenty of attention. You need good technique to turn on a pole lathe and it was great way to learn to turn."

Mike & Julie Roberts reviewed: Introduction to Leather Craft

"Brilliant weekend with a truly knowledgeable and passionate instructor. The subject is vast but Bill was able to impart a little of what he has learnt over his many years working leather in a succinct understandable way. We came home with 2 finished bags of different designs using different skills, which we are very proud of, and a desire to carry on and try to develop our skills from the excellent starter course. We would not hesitate to go on another course with Bill."

Donna Holland reviewed: Introduction to stone setting 2 day course

"This is the second course i have completed with Jonathan, and again it was a comprehensive and exciting course. Jonathan runs small classes so you always feel like you have one to one time and whatever your ability he always boosts your confidence. I have hopefully made some new friends and we defiantly had fun over the two day course. I cannot recommend these courses highly enough to anyone who wants to learn a new skill set. Thanks Jonathan and Helen for another warm welcome."

Audrey Caine reviewed: Natural (cold process) soap making workshop with afternoon tea

"This course was a birthday gift from my daughter and I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the relaxed and friendly greeting I received from both Julie the tutor and everybody who attended . It was a lovely day full of information and practical advice. Julie is very knowledgable and eager to share her skills. The afternoon tea was a lovely touch so everyone could have a good chat over a lovely spread of sandwiches tea and cake. The soaps we made we took home and has given me lots of room for thought and ideas. Can't wait for the candle course now. Would recommend these courses to anyone who wished to start a business or just for fun. Thank you Julie and Co."
