"Had a really enjoyable few hours with Zenia working on a sunflower pin cushion. Zenia's instructions were clear and easy to follow. There was no pressure and she was very patient and concerned that I ended up completing a successful project. Would certainly recommend, and am looking forward to joining another class in the future."

Jayne reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"I won my candle making class as Kerry had very kindly donated it to a charity auction. I enjoyed every aspect of the morning the class was very relaxed and informal but informative. Kerry paces the class well so you never feel rushed with a welcome coffee and cake break too. Kerry has an eye for detail and styling when you arrive for the class her presentation of the materials etc is so pretty. I will definitely be back."

Julie P reviewed: Indigo & Arashi Shibori workshop

"A really fun way to spend an afternoon, Lisa is a great teacher and her enthusiasm is infectious. I love my scarf and pillow cases and have already ordered the kit that she recommended so that I can continue my experiments with shibori techniques. I really hope that Lisa starts the “Indigo Club” as I would love to go along to share ideas and have more fun."

Dasha reviewed: Blacksmith experience day in Tilford, Surrey

"Had a really wonderful day of blacksmithing - it's been a dream of mine for years to try it out and I finally did (and all my friends were really jealous)! Neil is a wonderful teacher and very patient, and knows exactly when to step in/give close guidance and when to take a step back so you really feel like you're learning (look! I did this bit all by myself!). We made 2 beautiful pieces (a coat hook and a poker) and I'm so proud of them - I can see the imperfections, sure, but at the end of they day they're something that I created with my own two hands, which is something that I really value. Only thing I would say is that it's VERY warm work and I picked a midsummer day to go... bring clothes you don't mind sweating in! (That is obviously the nature of standing near a forge all day though, so I probably should've figured!) Thanks for the wonderful experience Neil - I'd do it again in a heartbeat (and bring all my friends)."

"Thoroughly enjoyed my one day blacksmithing course and left the forge with a fire poker, herb cutter and a keyring. Not bad at all considering Ive never done anything like this before. Colin is a great tutor and I learnt a lot. More importantly I had fun working with him and wouldnt hesitate to return or recommend to anyone. Cheers Colin!"

Jennifer reviewed: Beginners Candlemaking for Two - Anglesey, Wales

"I booked a beginners workshop for my 8 year old daughter and myself, as a fun treat. We had a wonderful time. Anita was very patient and friendly, happy to explain and help my daughter with the more complicated parts, so that I could continue with my candles. She even took charge of my camera to get photos of us both! We started by choosing two colours and two fragrances each. We then dyed the first lot of wax and added the fragrance, which was used to make several tealights. The second batch of wax was then prepared and used for two votives and several wax melts each. These done, we had a break for a drink, slice of cake and a natter with Anita. After the break, we moved onto hand dipping a pair of candles each, which was fantastic. Again, Anita took charge of my daughter to enable me to make mine, which I very much appreciated. By the end of the workshop, we had a box of beautiful candles, a new skill and some very happy memories to take away with us. I would heartily recommend it to anyone and cannot thank Anita enough for the wonderful experience."

"The workshop was very well organised and the candle making process was clearly explained. Kerry obviously loves all aspects of candle making and she passed on her enthusiasm to the members of the group. The workshop was good fun, well timed and everyone had a beautiful product to take home, I would certainly recommend it. Thanks to Kerry for a very enjoyable experience."

Ellie reviewed: 'Art of Stained Glass' - Oldbury, Birmingham

"I took a 4 day course with Jamal to explore the stained glass and enamelling processes. Although I had some ideas for the type of piece I wanted to create, I had very little previous experience. Jamal was not only an expert in his field, he was patient and offered encouragement and support to help me carry out my ideas. Jamal is highly experienced and shared samples of his own work to give inspiration and insights into the medium. I would highly recommend a course with Jamal if you want to have an expert craftsman help you learn the stained glass process."

Kerry reviewed: French Polishing & Woodcare - Beginners Course - 1 Day

"I attended a one day course with my husband and couldn’t have wished for a better Christmas present. I refurbished a small mirror and David a barley twist table. Ollie explained what we were to do and showed us exactly how to achieve the finish we wanted in his well equipped workshop. It was a brilliant day and has definitely laid the foundation for further projects. We hope to return for another course soon."

BumbleeBee reviewed: Indigo & Arashi Shibori workshop

"I had a brilliant afternoon learning all about indigo dye, it’s history and how to use it, and Japanese Shibori pattern dyeing. Lisa from Indigowares is a very enthusiastic teacher and we were encouraged to bring natural fabric such as bull denim, calico, cotton, linen or silk and it was amazing to see how it was transformed by dipping into the vat of indigo dye. Lisa would like to start an ‘Indigo club’ and I will definitely be going if she does."
