Hilary reviewed: A Dry Stone Walling Workshop Bedfordshire

"Who'd have thought it, I'm a Waller! I won't say it wasn't tiring work but I found it very satisfying assessing the right stone for the right place and seeing the wall grow strong and sound to the required shape and size. What a sense of achievement to build something beautiful that could stand for hundreds of years A huge thank you to John for his careful tutelage. What a gent."

London School of Dry Stone Walling responded:

"Hello Hillary- many thanks for your feedback, i am pleased you discovered a new calling! Your quiet determination and steady, thoughtful choice and juggling the stone was an inspiration."

Bridget Hughes reviewed: ColourWheel art classes for adults - Maidenhead - Thursday

"This course is just so much fun! Yes, you learn lots and lots of things, different ideas, different techniques, different ways of creating a disaster and then the thrill of actually producing something really worthwhile that you never thought you were capable of doing. But above all it's the course organisers, Rene and Erica who make it all jell together, for their patience and understanding and creating an atmosphere that makes it such a pleasure to attend each week."

Mark May reviewed: ColourWheel art classes for adults - Maidenhead - Thursday

"These Colourwheel classes are value for money. They are well structured and organised to provide instruction in the use of differing media (which is provided). The course material and notes are emailed in advance of your weekly 3 hour lessons by Rene. Erica who is a qualified and experienced teacher demonstrates the various techniques for the media and subject, then moves round the class assisting and encouraging the less proficient. The friendly atmosphere can go from vibrant to silent concentration in minutes and is a haven from the outside world. Excellent venue and easy parking."

"What an excellent two days covering how to build a wall from scratch. There was plenty of hands on instruction from people who are obviously passionate about the art of dry stone walling. If you're thinking about taking this course then stop right now and just do it, you won't be disappointed."

Adam Connor reviewed: Two day dry stone walling course for beginners in association with Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain

"The opportunity to give something to the local community that would last into the next century was realised when I attended the weekend course. Run by enthusiastic, knowledgable and highly skilled instructors and volunteers who enthused us all to work as a team. The comraderie and banter over the weekend was intoxicating and with the additional supply of home baking goodies, no one was going to let a few drops of rain stop us from building our wall. Leaning is a life long journey and the skill set I have learnt over the weekend will enable me to further enhance the beautiful area that I live in. The best way to describe this course is in two words: Highly recommended!"

Christine Smith reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"Myself and my sister Nol did this course at the weekend. It was wonderful. We both came away with a piece of work that we are really happy with. This was after thinking that we would be unable to make anything worth looking at. Sebastian is a great teacher, giving you plenty of guidance and technique but allowing you the freedom to express yourself. The lovely rural setting and relaxed atmosphere all added to a special experience. We will certainly be returning."

Michelle reviewed: ColourWheel art classes for adults - Maidenhead - Thursday

"I absolutely love these classes. This is my third term. Erica and Rene are fantastic - everything is organised and provided, so that all we do as students is turn up and get on with the fun part. Erica's teaching skills are second to none, as she breaks things down into bite sized chunks, so that sometimes when faced with what seems impossible or beyond your capability, you really ARE amazed at what you can achieve. These classes are not only enjoyable, but actually give me three hours where I am completely absorbed, and switch off from the world. Bliss! Thanks Rene and Erica!"

Karen Hayhoe reviewed: Whittling course

"I have long been interested in traditional crafts and enjoy trying new workshops in the hope of one day finding something I can be good at! This course was given as a birthday present from my family and I was very excited at the prospect of bringing home something I had made myself at the end of the day. There were only four of us on the course, which meant Martin could give us all the attention we needed, both to keep us safe from sharp tools and to guide us in the craft. He is a very patient tutor and a very knowledgeable woodman. He also serves a delicious homemade lunch (eaten with his own carved spoons!)! Martin was generous with both his hospitality and his tuition and I had such a creatively fun day! I would definitely recommend this course and hope to return to do the spoon carving, Thank you Martin."

Debbie Roberts reviewed: Glass Art - two day course in stained glass (traditional leaded or copper foil "Tiffany" technique)

"Spent a fabulous day with my husband and friends on a "Glass Fusing Taster " on Saturday and will definitely be going again. Mattt is an excellent teacher and was informative, encouraging and very patient. The studio was light, bright and airy and therefore a comfortable place to be and it wasn't long before we were able to put our newly learned skills to the test, by creating a couple of pieces of our own. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and are looking forward to collecting our "masterpieces" later this week, after having been left with Mattt in the kiln."

Joanne Tunnicliffe reviewed: ColourWheel art classes for adults - Maidenhead - Thursday

"I have just completed my third term at Windsor, it is amazing! I have always loved art since I was at school and had been looking for a class I could join for some time. I trialled a class last May and thoroughly enjoyed it and signed up and have not looked back since. It is my 3 hour respite each week, down time from a hectic job the rest of the week. The quality of the teaching is excellent and each week a different and exciting project is taught which is interesting, challenging and hugely enjoyable. We have used Indian inks, Watercolours, Pastels, Acrylics, Life Drawing and most recently Lino printing. Both Rene and Erica are fantastic teachers, who encourage and inspire each week. Both classes are taught in a lovely setting which are easily accessed with plenty of parking and everything we need for the class is provided. I highly recommend this course and look forward to returning next term!"

Jacquie reviewed: ColourWheel art classes for adults - Maidenhead - Thursday

"I first joined the beginner’s class, with no previous art experience and found that I could actually draw and paint recognisable objects - much to the surprise of my family! Being able to experiment with colour and mediums in class was invaluable as I developed my own style, better than I could have hoped. Rene and the teachers were so patient, supportive and extremely encouraging. Anyone who is even thinking about art classes should definitely go to ColourWheel where your inner hidden artist will be gently nurtured and celebrated."

Keya reviewed: ColourWheel art classes for adults - Maidenhead - Thursday

"I am about to complete my first term. I have already signed up for the next one! I am a beginner with a scientific brain and imagined I had no artistic talent. Erica and Rene bring out the very best in their pupils. The teaching is excellent and everytime I think I cannot complete a project I surprise myself. It is definitely possible to learn a new skill. The environment is fun and relaxing and I am totally absorbed throughout the lesson. A great way to switch off . I would highly recommend giving these classes a try. Everything is provided and you learn various techniques with different mediums. It has truly opened up a new world for me."

Diana Moss reviewed: ColourWheel art classes for adults - Maidenhead - Thursday

"4 courses ago, never having been anywhere near Art at school, I signed up to Colour Wheel. Every lesson we try out different media and approach different subjects on a termly basis. All the participants are friendly and the tutors, Rene and Erica, most helpful. It has been a pleasure to turn up on a Thursday morning, welcomed by newly made friends, to have 3 hours of me time, ignoring what is going on in the outside world, to take home a piece of artwork I never would have believed possible at the beginning of each session."
