Lauren Ruddick reviewed: A fabulous introduction to fused glass - one day course

"Fabulous introduction into fused glass! I would highly recommend Siobhan's day course to anyone who wishes to create a unique gift, start a fused glass course project or have a fun day out crafting! The day was expertly guided in the workshop and we were given all the equipment, training and knowledge required to produce at least 3 beautiful pieces of art (of which I was VERY impressed how they turned out.) The skills are not hard to obtain and within the first 2 hours many of us had produced our first piece of glass art and letting our imaginations guide us (with the help of Siobhan) to create other pieces! The workshop is really friendly and the staff are really lovely. The day is an excellent way to get into glass art projects and as there are many other courses available I will be sure to return. Well worth the cost which covers the training in a small private group, all the materials, lunch (which was lovely) and three (or more!) pieces of your individual creations."

Diane Davies reviewed: 1-to-1 tailored course with one of the UK's leading glass artists Jennifer Barker, at the Cheshire School of Glass

"I researched before I went on this course, so I knew Jenny knew her stuff. I am a glass artist already, who wanted to learn more techniques and how certain things are made. We covered so much , I've come away literally bursting with ideas. I made a lot of pieces, which I'm looking forward to seeing. Jenny certainly knows her stuff. I was really impressed."

Lola Boon reviewed: Mosaic applique with the Cheshire School of Glass

"I have managed to keep all my fingers and thumbs. I've created a mosaic masterpiece which is huge! I can't believe I made it in just 2 days. I used Marine plywood as it will be going outside. Jenny was so encouraging and is a very patient and enthusiastic teacher. The studio is lovely, but is up a small flight of stairs. I really enjoyed this course and learn't so much."

Julie reviewed: Blacksmithing Experience Day

"My father and I spent the day with Colin at his forge, as a treat for my father. Neither of us had done any blacksmithing before, and we found Col to be a fantastic teacher, who had created a fantastic day. The forge is in a perfect setting, Col has a fab sense of humour and way of teaching. He really has developed a great line up for the day, packed full of blacksmithing, and within half an hour we were hammering away; by the end I think we had 'had a go' at a fair number of basic techniques. Col was really patient, very generous with his compliments, full of enthusiasm and knowledge. The day was really relaxed, and lots of fun chatter. We came away with our hard work and haven't stopped talking about it since, four days on. We couldn't recommend this day enough and look forward to going back for another day with Col soon - thank you Colin."

Eleanor Rogerson reviewed: Kiln fired Enamelling with Katie Sanderson. Full day workshop

"I did this course early July and it was fantastic. There were 4 people on the course and we all went away with a set of beautiful enamelled items. Katie demonstrated the basic techniques, but most of the day is about having a go with Katie there to help and offer suggestions. She is very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. It was a very relaxed and supportive atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to try enamelling, who wants to improve their enamelling or just anyone who would like to try something new."

Katie Sanderson, enamel artist responded:

"Thank you so much Eleanor, wish you lots of fun exploring this wonderful craft further. Katie"

Karen Tandy reviewed: Kate Morrell willow sculpture courses

"I had a brilliant two days working with Kate. I made a pair of boxing hares and I'm absolutely delighted with the results. I worked in Kate's beautiful garden and a lovely home made lunch was provided with plenty of refreshments throughout the day. Kate is an extremely talented and fabulous teacher. She is patient and a really lovely lady, who is fun to be with. Kate is a perfectionist and helped me with the proportions of the hares. She also gave me advise on how to treat them, so they will still look good whatever the weather. All my friends who have seen my sculptures have been amazed. I'm really tempted to have another day with Kate, to make something else, if I can find room in my garden for it. If you want to do a willow sculpture, then look no further than Kate Morrell, you won't be disappointed. Thanks again Kate for a truly wonderful weekend."

John Cartwrigjht reviewed: Rustic thumb walking stick

"A really super day. I have made very simple stick in the past, this course has spurred me on to make better sticks. As with many things personal guidance is a million times better than a book [or even You Tube videos]. Dave has a very easy style of teaching. You are guaranteed to enjoy the day"

Clive Cottam reviewed: Learn to Turn in the Dartmoor National Park

"An absolute delight! As if I'd known Chris for years, our conversations explored a range of topics between his comprehensive and patient tutoring. I was a bit apprehensive but this proved groundless, as Chris provided an ideal environment for learning and practical application. The balance of instruction, guidance, suggestion and support was just right. Chris completely allows you to take ownership of your own project with only a light hand on the tiller. And of course you get to take home the product of your endeavours. Perfect."

Sara Christie reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"This is my third session with Lucy and once again another inspirational, but relaxing day, so wonderful to be able to step outside of the real world for a day. Not only did I get to continue with my pendant project and learnt about stone mounting, but Lucy helped me create a beautiful ring as a keepsake for my daughters graduation, so very special, a heartfelt thank you Lucy. Thank you also Lucy for your patience and your guidance, the pictures and your wisdom sharing are so valuable in helping me to be able to do this as a much needed independant hobby. Have a great summer and see you in September."

Tim Parker reviewed: Clay modelling - sculpt a classical portrait

"I attended a 3 day course during which we fashioned a bust of a model. The old grammer school it is held in has a lovely artistic atmosphere. I had never worked with clay, but with excellent teaching and good company I had a lovely time, and produced my own mini “Epstein”! It was a great thing to do as an alternative break"

"This is the creme de la creme of glass courses. Jenny has an excellent reputation as a Glass Artist and Tutor.
