Sue Tay reviewed: Needle Felting Workshop - landscape pictures

"I attended Pip’s workshop with a friend, as complete novices to needle felt. Pip was superbly organised, encouraging and a great teacher. We accomplished lots; two finished pictures, (moorland and coastal) without feeling rushed- coffee and yummy break included! I would have no hesitation in recommending this workshop. It felt like a catch up with an old friend in her warm kitchen. I’m eager to try more needle felting. What a fabulous morning!"

Denise Elliott reviewed: A complete introduction to felt-making

"What a lovely day I had at Hilary's house learning to felt. Not too many students, four on this occasion, which means not waiting for help. It was relaxed and friendly. Hilary is a great teacher and we managed to achieve far more than I expected. I came away buzzing with ideas. I loved it that she gave us some materials to take away so we could carry on at home before we managed to get some supplies in :-) I thought that was generous and thoughtful."

Louisa Bain reviewed: Felt picture making workshop in Rugby!

"I have been on two of Karen's courses now. She is very knowledgeable about her subject and able to explain the process very well. Karen takes care to support, encourage and teach whilst still allowing participants to be creative. There are plenty of materials to choose from and the course is well designed with plenty to do but it is still very relaxing. On both of the courses I have attended all the participants were hugely enthusiastic, very friendly and keen to share ideas. It is a wonderful way to spend a relaxing Saturday morning and you will come away inspired."

Karen Wyeth Contemporary Felt Artist responded:

"Thank you so much for your kind review Louisa, it is much appreciated! Do let me see a photo of your finished flower picture once you've done some stitching!"

"Two wonderful days in Fiona's Studio dyeing wool, cotton and fleece with weld and oak (both picked fresh from her garden!), goldenrod, madder, logwood and more. Fiona is a superb teacher - very welcoming and knowledgeable, and her homemade scones and soup were delicious. Recommended if you want to learn the process of dyeing using plants from scratch."

Shropshire Weavers responded:

Diana van Delzen reviewed: ‘Winter dream ' wool painting face-to-face textile art course in Worcestershire

"Two days ago I joined Raya and other participants for my first wool painting. It was a very nice introduction to working with wool fibres in this way and it quickly became an absorbing and relaxing craft. Raya is a very knowledgeable and talented tutor/artist and gave good, clear demonstrations which inspired confidence in making a lovely wool picture of our own choice. Raya also supplied a choice of picture frames. During the course Raya's hospitality provided us with delicious cakes and hot drinks and made the whole experience a pleasure and left me with plenty of creative ideas! I hope to join again for another wool painting workshop. Can thoroughly recommend it!"

Magic Wool Art and Craft Studio responded:

"Dear Diana, It was a pleasure meeting you and teaching you! I am so pleased that you enjoyed the workshop and feeling inspired to do more wool paintings! Thank you very much for your review. I look forward to seeing you again at Magic Wool Art and Craft Studio for more wool painting workshops. Kind regards. Raya"

Leyanne McNeice reviewed: 8-Week Pottery Throwing Course - Hampshire

"What a fantastic course. The studio has an amazing atmosphere and Jack's patience and teaching were above and beyond. The class was small, enabling us all to have one to one tuition when needed and I was thrilled with my finished pieces. The only downside was that the weeks went by too quickly. I looked forward to each lesson and would highly recommend it."

Lynne reviewed: Modern calligraphy (full day workshop) - Hampshire

"A very relaxing and inspiring day! All materials including the pen, ink, lettering guide and different types of paper & card were provided and the placecard name bookmark gave a welcoming start to the day. Sunita is an experienced teacher and her ability to differentiate the pace to suit individual learners means that the course is equally suitable for both beginners and those with previous experience. The demonstration of each letter family with lots of time to practise afterwards gave a really good grounding in how to produce different letter shapes. Sunita gave individual help as needed with lots of encouragement to vary layouts and develop an individual style and the choice of projects in the afternoon gave the opportunity to use different coloured inks and papers to produce bookmarks, cards and gift tags - all great fun!"

"I really enjoyed both the workshops I attended at the weekend. The small groups are great as it gives us the opportunity to ask any questions we need to ask, and the opportunity for individual help where needed. You make things as simple as possible and give clear instructions, so at the end of the course I felt really pleased with what I had achieved. Many thanks,"

"I had wanted to try pottery throwing for years, and the taster session I went to exceeded my expectations! Jack is very friendly, and a great instructor, very encouraging and importantly he makes it a really fun and relaxing experience. A fantastic way to escape our busy lives and focus on something creative and very satisfying. Also the location must be mentioned - the converted barn is beautifully done, light and spacious. And the location in the beautiful South Downs makes this an experience not to be missed!"
