John Wright reviewed: Easel Weasel 1 day Saturday Art Workshops - Derbyshire Peak District

"I really enjoyed the one day course at Denise's home studio. I learned several new techniques and gained the confidence to be a little more spontaneous in my painting. Denise was helpful without taking over and friendly so that I didn't feel as if it was all hard work. Denise is an extremely talented and innovative artist and I enjoyed seeing her work in different media. I would highly recommend her courses. John Wright"

We were all so involved in our creations, that we found it difficult to stop for our lovely lunch, which was also included. I will be returning for more, can’t wait!!"

Lynne reviewed: Modern calligraphy (full day workshop) - Hampshire

"A very relaxing and inspiring day! All materials including the pen, ink, lettering guide and different types of paper & card were provided and the placecard name bookmark gave a welcoming start to the day. Sunita is an experienced teacher and her ability to differentiate the pace to suit individual learners means that the course is equally suitable for both beginners and those with previous experience. The demonstration of each letter family with lots of time to practise afterwards gave a really good grounding in how to produce different letter shapes. Sunita gave individual help as needed with lots of encouragement to vary layouts and develop an individual style and the choice of projects in the afternoon gave the opportunity to use different coloured inks and papers to produce bookmarks, cards and gift tags - all great fun!"

Mary reviewed: Beginners Sewing - Day course

"I really enjoyed both the workshops I attended at the weekend. The small groups are great as it gives us the opportunity to ask any questions we need to ask, and the opportunity for individual help where needed. You make things as simple as possible and give clear instructions, so at the end of the course I felt really pleased with what I had achieved. Many thanks,"

Greg King reviewed: Taster pottery throwing lesson (various dates)

"I had wanted to try pottery throwing for years, and the taster session I went to exceeded my expectations! Jack is very friendly, and a great instructor, very encouraging and importantly he makes it a really fun and relaxing experience. A fantastic way to escape our busy lives and focus on something creative and very satisfying. Also the location must be mentioned - the converted barn is beautifully done, light and spacious. And the location in the beautiful South Downs makes this an experience not to be missed!"

Kearn Nicklin reviewed: Fused glass Christmas decorations (1 day) in Sheffield, South Yorkshire

"I had taken part in Martin's stained glass courses some years ago and thoroughly enjoyed them. Fused glass seemed a slightly different course to try. I was bought it as a Christmas present and really enjoyed attending Martin's new premises. It is well equipped, plenty of space, everything you want to complete the tasks and a very relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of drinks available all day and cakes supplied by Martin at lunchtime!! I thoroughly enjoyed it and would thoroughly recommend any of Martin's courses. He is an excellent tutor. Thank you"

Caroline Small reviewed: Screen printing on glass

"I attended this course and learnt so much about producing images on glass. The course takes you through the selection of an image, making a screen to completing the printing on glass and so much more. It was amazing. I have some experience with glass but would recommend it to all. Jim, the tutor, provided excellent teaching and answered all the questions I had. It was a small and friendly studio and I highly recommend it."

Marie Dawe reviewed: Screen printing on glass

"This 2 day screen printing on glass course was a very last minute find for me...and oh boy!! am i pleased to have spotted it. Screen printing on glass is pretty specialist stuff and not easy to get your head around. However, Jim made this so clear and direct, explaining repeatedly if any of us didn't understand the first time. He is definitely up for having his brain well and truly picked, and we did.?. I loved making my own screen to take home and use again, (Jim explained all the screen options before the day). My reason for going was to learn this technique to use again in my own art works, others just wanted to produce some finished pieces. So all in all, a fabulous 2 day course, if you want to give it a go, Jim is the man. One other thing, lunch (home made soup etc) and snacks, coffee and tea, there were aplenty! Yum!! I would certainly recommend #Haltglass to all."

Phil Melville reviewed: Screen printing on glass

"I have recently been on the excellent course run by Jim at Halt Glass. I researched screen printing courses in UK for a long time & finally found one that ticked all the boxe ! This course takes you through the whole process in very pleasant surroundings, in a small group & with great results. I've been practising as a stained glass craftsman/artist for approx 25 years and I genuinely feel excited about the new skills I've learned on this course & I can't recommend it highly enough . A nice relaxed atmosphere & a great lunch also helps :-}"

Michael Crane reviewed: 2 Day Leather Practical Skills Course

"I thoroughly recommend this two day course if you have an interest in working with leather either as a hobby or professionally. Richard is an extremely knowledgeable teacher as well as being patient and engaging. The fact that there were only two of us on the course meant that I didn’t get left behind at any stage. I learnt a lot more than I had anticipated and went away with very thorough course notes for future reference. Richard’s enthusiasm for leatherwork has certainly rubbed off and I look forward to buying all the tools and putting into practice the new techniques I’ve acquired. Thank you."

Michaela reviewed: Fused glass Christmas decorations (1 day) in Sheffield, South Yorkshire

"Had a great time making Christmas decorations with Martin! We all managed to make a lot more items than we'd perhaps imagined before the course. I'd never done any glass workshops before, but Martin explained all the basics needed to get started and was always there to help if any of us got stuck. There was also a steady supply of tea, coffee and even some sweets and mince pies. Already planning to go back to do one of the Traditional Stained Glass or Tiffany Stained Glass workshops!"

Marc Gilmour reviewed: Christmas Decorations Berkhamsted HP4

"I'm Helen's assistant during the workshops. Helen is very attentive to participants needs & helps readily those who want assistance. The moss wreath is easier to make than the willow wreath-there isn't the softening work involved & the moss wreath is heavier which is good if you have a door in a windy spot. I also make the drinks; tea, coffee, juice, mulled wine & of course cake. It's a great morning-I'd like to see more blokes at the workshops."

Helen Reeley Gardens responded:

"Thank you Marc, I couldn't do it without you. We have a very busy wreath season coming up-I hope your biceps are in good condition :-)"
